This is genuinely apparent as one track flows into the next. The African rhythms--both vocal and in instrumentation--come across as authentic and original all at once. No doubt this is largely through Mancina's passion for peculiar instruments and the possibilities from nightly live performances. "Grasslands Chant" is a good place to start to hear this. The hit favourites are here of course, but both "Circle Of Life" and "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" are pleasingly unrecognisable with chorus and shifting beats. Better still is the likelihood they will now be eclipsed by some of the new numbers. Mancina's own "He Lives In You" being a strong contender. have created a masterpiece in The LionKing, one which will be forever popular. It is timeless. The filming and design of the Pride Lands had a lot of time and effort put into them: this much is obvious.
I and my son really enjoy this film. I loved it when I first saw it in my teens, and now he loves it, too. There are a few moments of mild peril, but nothing too major, and the songs are beautifully created by Elton John and Tim Rice, particularly the two more commercially recignisable tracks, 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' and 'Circle of Life', although a special mention must be made to 'I Just Can't Wait To Be King', which is a very colourful and image-heavy sequence in the film.
Conclusion
This film has everything. It sits 'Pride' of place in my collection, and I rank it very highly. I rate this as a 5 star film, as it can be ...
I am actually viewing and re-viewing The LionKing a million times for the purpose of my university dissertation. Believe it or not, despite having watched this movie thousands of time, I am still not fed up with it. I personally think that The LionKing most certainly deserves its title as one of the highest grossing movies in Disney Cinema. It is a movie that I particularly appreciate because of it clearly differs from the other Disney films that were so much in rage during that period of time when LionKing came out. I believe that this movie is also so widely appreciated all over because of the wide rage of thematic elements that it offers, and also because of the originality in which Disney managed to convey many strong emotions and quite a few moral lessons for children.

Walt Disney has many family orientated films. Favourite animation titles include 'The Jungle Book', 'Aladdin', 'Cinderella', 'Beauty and the Beast', 'Bambi' and '101 Dalmations'. These movies are all fun, heart warming and beautifully made. Children and adults will enjoy them in equal measures.
The 'LionKing', for me, slots in easily above all these movies. It is a beautiful story, the animation is incredible and the sound track is amazing. 'Hakuna Matata' is catchy, great fun and will stick in your head for days to come.
In conclusion, no matter how old (or young) you are, you have got to own 'The LionKing'. I class it as a Classic, its definately one of the best films I've ever seen.
I paid £24.99 for my 2 Disc SpecialEditionDVD. I have seen the single DVD for as little as £9 ...
