Advantages: Well produced, highly relaxing album Disadvantages: None
LiquidMind is the creation of former 'Missing Persons' keyboardist ChuckWild. Following his time in the group he moved on to music production and worked with many notable muscians during the late 80s and early 90s. Wild says that he originally wrote the LiquidMind music to help himslef and close family to cope with their stressful lives.
This relaxing series is now on its 8th album and 'LiquidMind III: Balance' is a definate highlight of the series. From the opening notes the trademark LiquidMind elements are all there in this album: slow rhythmless pieces, slow chord progressions and wonderful drifting synthersizers. The whole album has an overall postive feel to it that will help even the most stressed of people to chill out at the end of the day and even the most sleepless to get a good nights sleep.

Advantages: Good at what it does. Disadvantages: Not quite as developed as the other albums in the series
After the epic 'Ambience Minimus' I felt that the same quality was not there in this, the second LiquidMind album, from ChuckWild. The premise of Slow World is basically the same as the other albums in the series. Long slow compositions to help people unwind at the end of a stressful day. However, unlike in the previous album, and the many that followed, this album seems to be less developed. The music has a slightly darker feel to it and doesn't come close to the spacey, positive feel of Ambience Minimus.
The three compostions on the album seemed too long for me. I am a fan of ambient and new age music and I frequently buy albums with long pieces on. In this case however it seemed more of a chore as the music left me slightly bored. The album may hve worked better had the existing tracks been interspersed with a couple of shorter ...
Advantages: Light airy atmosphere. Well produced. Truly unique - never heard anything like this before Disadvantages: None
Following his time as keyboardist with the group 'Missing Persons' in the early 1980s and as a music producer who worked with such notable artists as Frank Zappa and Michael Jackson, ChuckWild took a whole new direction in the mid 1990s when he began his LiquidMind series.
Originally conceived as an aid to himself and family to help cope with long and stressful days, the series of relaxing albums has now grown to eight albums. Ambience Minimus is the first of these stress-busting CDs.
ChuckWild begins his LiquidMind series with what in my opinion is the epitome of a chill out album. Four long pieces composed to help the listener relax after a long day or to help them sleep at night this album is ideal for people looking to just chill out. This is a truely unique album. I had been into ambient music for a while before I bought ...

Album Notes
With SERENITY, composer and synthesizer magician Chuck Wild (a.k.a. Liquid Mind) offers up another album tailor-made for deep, peaceful relaxation. Wild's approach to sound is minimal in terms of composition--the music here is built mostly on sustained, overlapping chords--but what the music lacks in structural complexity it more than makes up for in texture and feeling. Ghostly and spare, yet warm and inviting, Wild generates orchestral sounds with his synthesizer, complete with celestial phrases and deep, resonant bass. It is difficult to resist the lure of these lush, pillowy compositions, and the listener is readily swept away on clouds of music. As with Wild's other solo recordings, SERENITY is perfectly suited for enhancing home environments, or as a musical accompaniment to the practices of yoga, meditation, and the healing arts.
