Advantages: A fabulous collection of ballads and dance songs! Disadvantages: Not enough songs!
...I purchased this CD a few weeks ago when i found it on Amazon, as i was a huge fan of the juniors when they were around.
The standout tracks for me on this album are; Automatic High, Puppy Love, Wherever You Are, Together, Anytime Anywhere and You Are The One.
Automatic High and Anytime Anywhere are good songs to listen to in the summer and will get you dancing and singing along within minutes.
Puppy Love, You Are The One, and Wherever You Are - these are all ballads which you could listen to whilst cuddled up with a loved one. Calvin really does justice, as he takes leads vocals in the cover of the Donny Osmond classic (Puppy Love).
Together is a song about no matter how bad the world is or times get - when you're together with friends you're stong!
All in all - i think this is a fabulous album! The juniors do it justice!...

Advantages: Classic songs, superb vocals, the voice of an angel Disadvantages: Absolutely none
...ask me. Another deep blues rhythm, and although not my favourite track, one that clearly stretches the range of Alison’s vocals from low through to high. I would imagine it has significant meaning for her, as you’re touched with emotion as you listen and it really does give me goose bumps! Great clarinet instrumental to be found here.
♪♫Je Crois Entendre Encore 3:29♪♫
“Je crois entendre encore
Caché sous les palmiers
Sa voix tendre et sonore
Comme un chant de ramiers.”
*** English Translation ***
“I still believe I hear
hidden beneath the palm trees
your voice tender and deep
like the song of a dove”
Chosen due to the delight and romanticism of singing in French. It’s a wonderfully melodious song and stretches Alison Moyet’s vocals to the limit, but she passes the challenge with flying colours...

Advantages: Good background listening Disadvantages: Odd mixture of music on the Uplifting disc
...the Enigma Variations as a series of musical portraits of his friends. Nimrod is prbably the most famous of these portraits and was written as a depiction of Elgar's friends and publisher August Jaeger. I wonder if Elgar would like this arrangement for voices, done by John Cameron in 1996. I think it is a soothing piece and fits well with the rest of the CD. But having listened again to the original orchestral version in order to compare the two I think I still prefer the piece as Elgar wrote it. This version with voices doesn't quite have the same inspiring feel.
2 Brahms - 'How Lovely Are Thy Dwelling Places'. This piece is from A German Requiem, which had its first complete performance in 1868. Although it is heard here on the Relaxing CD, personally I find it quite uplifting. I like how the voices weave together, building towards...
