Advantages: Brilliant and Original Compositions Disadvantages: A Bit Rough around the Edges For Modern Tastes
.../ pop singer Donovan. In 1943 his semi-autobiographical account of the Dust Bowl years was published as ‘Bound For Glory’.
Post-war, Woody was living in New York again, where he penned a collection of children’s songs. However, at this time, he began to suffer from the inherited symptoms of Huntingdon’s Chorea, which made him extremely unpredictable. From 1954 to his death in 1963 he was to be constantly in and out of hospital.
During this later period of his life Woody became more famous for his children’s songs and books. His songs were particularly popular on BBC Children’s TV in the 1950s and I seem to have a vague memory of Woody actually appearing on these programmes (please correct me if I’m wrong). If you’ve heard ‘(Take yer Riding in a) Car, Car’ or ‘(Take You) Down to The Zoo, Tomorrow’ then you’ve heard Woody songs...

Advantages: More great tracks of popular songs sung by original & alternate artists Disadvantages: Some slightly more obscure artists on this one
...I was recently bought this compilation CD as a gift from my partner, as he knew I loved the first one that was bought out last year. So with a flurry of excitment I stuck it in the player and began flicking through the tracks to get a feel for which ones I knew or not as the case may be. ...I recieved the first album way overdue no less than two months ago. and i loved it. every track infact. so with Radio ones live lounge being one of my faviroute albums i was excited to hear that live lounge two was out aswell.I cant stop listening to it. every track on there is so original, if its not a song performed by a different artist its the artists song but done with an acoustic guitar making it simple but in some cases better than the original ? complicated ? It doesnt matter whether you hate pop beceause theyll be a rock/indie band covering the song and vice versa. its a breath of fresh air. my faviourte track being the girls - calvin harriss. hated the original dance like song but love this as it is an acoustic cover and more to my taste. a must have for all music lovers....
