This live collection of songs from 1988 was first issued in 1995, and appears to be made up of 3 different live dates according to the sleeve notes, the compliers have done such a great job of editing it’s difficult to hear the joins. The first thing to note is that it’s a solo recording; Shawn is on stage all on her own with just a guitar and her voice and nothing else.
The 11 tracks that appear on this album are mostly from her debut ... ...and other instruments.
This live set begins with the pivotal song in her back catalogue “Diamond in the Rough”, from the opening vocal Ms Colvin exposes the listener to raw and honest emotion that by the conclusion of this album is very uplifting, with it’s honesty and simple arrangements this a collection to go back to again and again for repeated listening… ...
