...I would like to start this review with afew facts about DollyParton for those who don't already know her and her work.
Born: Dolly Rebecca Parton.
Place: Sevierville, Tennessee.
Date: 19 th January, 1946
She was 4th of twelve children and began performing at the age of 9, when she was appearing on the Cas Walker Show on WBIR- TV in Noxville , Tennessee. She recorded her first Album on a small label, Goldband at the age of 13 and also appeared at the Grand Ole Oprey in Nashville.
She is an accomplished musician, playing Guitar, banjo, autoharp , piano and drums.
Also a Grammy winning, Academy Award winner, Country Singer, Songwriter, Composer, Author , actress.
Now to this album.
This is a very good album, with many of her best known songs, and also some not so well known.

Advantages: Many of Dolly's greatest hits are included Disadvantages: Only 21 songs, so some hits are missing
...DollyParton is one of the most successful country singers of all time. Whilst staying true to the music of her Smokey Mountain roots she has also crossed over into the realms of pop as well as acting, and her catchy tunes and heartfelt lyrics have appealed to people from all walks of life throughout the four decades of her career.

...Miss Parton has given some very interesting interviews about this latest project. She has been quoted as saying that this is her most reflective album ever as, though other releases like "The Grass is Blue" and "Little Sparrow", look back at the music of her childhood and the roots of Country, this album has allowed her to look at her formative years and cover the music of her 'day'.
For those of us with a great affection for Dolly as she was in her 1980s heyday - "9 to 5", "Potential New Boyfriend", "White Limozeen" etc - this represents a very big change. When did she ever indicate to us that she was a hippy chick with a great affection for the social justice movements of the 1960s? Well, actually, she probably sort of did it's just that as with matters of religion so with matters of politics there isn't all that much...
