...Fully paid up non-conformists and out and out eccentrics, King Prawn have been a live favourite around the London club scene for a while now, especially the last couple of years. With their, excuse the pun, blend, of punk-fuelled ska and unseeminglyunrelenting thirst for fun, the band sound like Madness, The Specials and the Clash all rolled into one...not a bad combination at all, and eclectic to say the least. Thing is, it works with their particular brand of music at times being infuriatingly catchy! Check out 'Someone to hate', the ska and skanking 'No peace' (my personal fave) and the reggae beat of 'London born' and rock on with those poor jellybabies as they plunge to their death in the blender!...

Advantages: Almost every song could be a single on its own. Disadvantages: May become repetative if your not a big fan.
...of genres, ranging from the obvious ska and punk, to heavier genres such as emo, and metal.
My many Favorites…
When the Laughter Stops… Kicks of the album with a catchy guitar intro, turning in to one of the happiest danceable songs on the album, guaranteed to make anyone skank like crazy!
Hopskotch… is a personal favorite of mine, I first heard this in my local alternative club, and the whole room went totally crazy. It was because of this song that I began to listen to Farse! The song combines a mix of fast ska punk with just a touch of heavier thrashy guitar music in the chorus. I totally love the mix of music, but even more so I love the rolling lyrics, which you can never quite get. The lyrics to this song are occasionally changes when they are sung live, creating a new experience each time!
Broken Record… is another strong track...

Advantages: Superb Spanish ska Disadvantages: I prefer their album, El Vals Del Obrero
...I first came across Ska-P when I saw them live at the San Fermin Bull-running festival in Pamplona in 1997. Their energetic performance was one of the highlights of the festival and so I went and bought their first 2 albums, Ska-P & El Vals Del Obrero. At that time I didn't speak a word of Spanish and didn't have much idea about Spanish life and culture. However, through listening to their music I started to pick up some Spanish and it also gave me an insight into Spanish culture.
QUE CORRA LA VOZ is their 4th album and in my opinion it is their 2nd best behind EL VALS DEL OBRERO. Stand out tracks are CONSUMO GUSTO which is about the perils of this consumer society that we live in, McDOLLAR which is about a certain fast food chain and INSENSIBILIDAD which is about neglected pets bought as presents for christmas.
My overall rating...
