Advantages: 31 excellent tracks out of 39. Not bad going! Disadvantages: Repetition of artists and a few loose Pete Waterman connections.
...Who is the king of pop? Easy answers that spring to mind include Michael Jackson, Robbie Williams, or maybe even Ronan Keating. WRONG! Any self-respecting pop fan knows that the answer is Pete Waterman. Okay, so he hasn't warbled his way through a dodgy cover of "When You Say Nothing At All", or had a crack at "Billie Jean", but as far as producing decent tunes goes, Pete is, quite simply, King.
"The Hit Factory - Pete Waterman's Greatest Hits" is a true reflection of the genius songwriting and producing of pop hits throughout the Stock, Aitken and Waterman days and beyond. Advantages: good choon Disadvantages: everything else on the CD
...Louise's first single in over two years, after 8 previous hits has a hard reputation to live up to, but does well.
The sassy number is excellently produced, and we now see louise taking a part in song writing and getting more involved with aspects of production. The song's 'oh, oh' hook is incredibly catchy and soon you'll be singing it everywhere you go...
The artwork is very nicely done, but the CD-Extra does not really cut it (this is on CD1) with only a very low quality video and nothing else. Similarly, the B-sides do not stand on their own.
This CD is a nice little offering, but make sure you're buying it because you really like the feature song, because most other aspects are fairly dissapointing.
However, the legions of louise fans will be kept happy, as will her record company, kewl choon....
