Phantasy Star kept entertained over the last xmas period. It was a gift i received and was very surprise to get. You could image i steamed into this on xmas day and was pleasant surprise with its furtristic graphics but limited on the areas to travel to. But loads of little fun things to do.
You take the role of a young boy whos father was a protector of the planets (Guardian) almost a bit like a UN peace officer. To his dismay he finds out his father is killed while out on a mission and now needs to help bring his sister up and try to get a job to look after her and seems to be watched over by a friend of the family who persuades the young boy to carry in his fathers foot steps as a Guardian on the universe and protect all the indangered planets.
Game starts off a little bit slow and then the storyline kicks in. You get to do ...
Advantages: Its another one to add to the collection and is a nice collection of B-Side songs. Disadvantages: Its a bit pricey for what you get.
I thought I'd take the time out to express my views on this little baby since no one else has!
I suppose the best way to start this is to clarify that this is more of a collectors item than anything else. It has a total of 13 tracks shared out onto 3 CDs. The only problem is the price. Its normally priced between about £20 (if your lucky) and £30, of course I paid the latter. It is however an interesting listen.
CD1 the LIVE CD is Give it Away, Suck My Kiss, I Could Have Lied and Nobody Weird Like Me all taken from a gigs. They are good as live tracks go and also have their trademark improvised fills. Good Vibes.
CD2 the RARE CD has 4 non-album tracks. They are Soul to Squeeze, Fela's C**k, Sikamikanico and Search & Destroy. The first, Soul to Squeeze is featured on the (Pretty poor in my opinion) film Coneheads ...
Advantages: Online gaming, good value, networking Disadvantages: Some lag, temptation to spend more money on extras
Xbox Live is good value compared to some other online subscriptions e.g. World of Warcradt or Everquest as with these you pay everymonth just for one game, whereas with xbox live you only pay once to go online with pretty much all your games.
You then get tempted, however, to pay for extra online contect such as extra levels, characters, backdrops for your xbox live dashboard, arcade games etc. etc.
So it's never as cheap as it seems!
The service on xbox live is good and it's rare to have connection issues so gameplat online tends to be smooth. Occasionally you may shoot at someone only to find they already moved- lag is rare but does happen and can be annoying.
The range of games that can be played online is excellent, and isn't just shooting and fighting! Guitar hero plays online brilliantly with options for guitar battles ...
