Advantages: James Brown before he went global Disadvantages: Very dated, none of his big hits
the best live album of all time, but for me parts of Rattle And Hum by U2 and Bob Marley's Live walk all over it.
Read on for the tracks.
THE TRACKS
--------------------
1. Introduction To JamesBrown
A very glitzy, showbiz opening as the compare introduces JamesBrown (and The Famous Flames, his then backing group). After announcing each song the band will play and Brown will sing, a cymbal and one note trumpet ring sound, followed by the hysterical cheers of the mostly female audience.
2. I''ll Go Crazy
Does some great vocal acrobatics before a mad rhythm and guitar part come in with the trumpets. The crowd, of course, approve. You can just see Brown toying with the brittle emotions of the teenage crowd as he goes through this mid-paced soul classic.
3. Try Me
Aside from Please Please Please this is probably best known pre ...
Advantages: A strong mix of tracks Disadvantages: Inconsistent
"Mr. Brown" is the second solo album from the Georgia Soul singer, Sleepy Brown. Heavily-associate with the Hip Hop acts in the area, such as OutKast, Dungeon Family and Goodie Mob, Sleepy Brown got his name up with big collaboration with these acts and producing for them as part of Organized Noize before comiong up with his first big label album in 2006.
1. "I'm Soul"
We are kicked of in a big way with a gentle one from the artist. It has him ease his way inot things by coming with a track which has him work withvery little in the way of lyrics, and simply repeat the chorus for the majority of the thing. Despite it lengthy duration, he keeps the listeners engaged from start to finish with it.
**Four Stars**
2. "Margarita"
This is the main single off the album and has Sleepy work alongside The Neptunes for an up ...
Advantages: Great music, engaging story Disadvantages: Not one for the faint-hearted
classic Tarantino, the dialogue is sharp but also a tad on the surreal side. It sounds script like, but very natural, if that makes sense. It's such a fun film, although it is very bloody and gory, it's never serious, and the script reflects that. The acting is great, with everyone playing their roles well. The action is intense and very well done, with music kept at a minimum so you can hear every bone cracking and every stab with the blade.
The music is superb. Quentin Tarantino always knows the perfect music to go with his films, and this is no exception. Combining soft soulful music with contemporary Japanese pop, it's a very eclectic mix but works very well together. And even Ennio Morricone makes an appearance, his song "Death Rides a Horse" is used when The Bride and O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu) are staring each other out. The song reminds ...

Album Notes
The James Brown Band: James Brown (vocals); Lucas "Fats" Gonder (spoken vocals, organ); Les Buie (guitar); Al "Brisco" Clark (tenor & baritone saxophones); St. Clair Pinckney, Clifford "Ace King" MacMillan (tenor saxophone); Louis Hamblin, Teddy Washington, Mack Johnson (trumpet); Dickie Wells (trombone); Hubert Perry (bass); Clayton Fillyau, Sam Lathan (drums). The Famous Flames: Bobby Byrd (organ, background vocals); Bobby Bennett, "Baby" Lloyd Stallworth (background vocals). Reissue producer: Harry Weinger. Recorded live at the Apollo Theater, New York, New York on October 24, 1962. Includes liner notes by Harry Weinger and original release liner notes by Hal Neely. Many albums are hyped as legendary; few deserve the accolade. LIVE AT THE APOLLO 1962 is one of those rare albums that live up to the hype. Released despite label misgivings, LIVE AT THE APOLLO cemented James Brown's reputation as the unchallenged master of soul music. Deejays played the entire album at one stretch--this in an era when radio programmers rejected four-minute singles because they were too long--and the record reached number 2 on the Billboard pop chart, a previously unheard-of achievement for a gritty R&B album. LIVE AT THE APOLLO is more than a pop phenomenon, however; it is a document of one of America's greatest performers at the peak of his artistic powers. Brown's singing is orgasmic--just listen to the opening squeal on "I Go Crazy"--and the intensity never lets up. Brown drives his crack band through breakneck versions of early hits before dragging them through the eleven-minute bump-and-grind of "Lost Someone," the high point of a show that is nothing but high points. Nearly 30 years later, this is still one of the greatest live albums of all-time.
