Very best of Human League? Bah Humbug.

Advantages: Eight Good tracks.
Disadvantages: Twenty naff tracks.

The Very Best of the Human League. This compilation of HL tunes was released in 2003 and if you do want to buy it after this review, my advice is iTunes, all 28 songs for £7.99. To buy in most shops as a double CD is still more than £10, and the price (and availability) varies greatly online. To be honest, when I was compiling an 80's playlist for my iPod I needed about 6 songs from HL but could not resist downloading the lot for the price. Did I regret it? would I have been better off getting just a few tracks? well........ 1.Don't You Want Me Absolute classic, who can forget the video. Heavy electronic beats, a great storyline, good vocals and almost everyone knows the lyrics, so this one gets a tick, I've kept it 9/10. 2.Love Action (I Believe In Love) Again, big tick for me. Reproduction (Re-Mastered) The Human League

Advantages: interesting very very interesting
Disadvantages: too "interesting" in places

If i could start by saying thet the babies being stamped on by anonymous stilletoes on the front cover are not real ones ,but it does grab your visual attention ,and if you are open minded enough to allow a band its "early period"then "Reproduction"can be a very rewarding experience ,there is little in the way of hits or even pop,but if curiosity gets the better of you after glancing at the cover then buy a ticket and jump on . This is the sound of the suburbs ,the suburbs of Shefield in or around 1978,at this point The Human League consisted of four blokes ,a couple of synthsisers and a slide projector and a warehouse load of ideas and concepts,none of them remotely linked to each other ,and giving the overall effect of a band not playing what they wanted but what they could manage ,and thats where the magic starts . Prinny's Pleasure Dome! Brighton's Best!

Advantages: Historical interest, vibrant eccentric decor, magnificent furnishings and furniture
Disadvantages: always leaves you wnting more

was sold to the town for £53,000, the money going towards the creation of a new wing at Buckingham Palace. There followed over a century during which the Pavilion enjoyed a much less exalted status as a municipal building, housing exhibitions meetings and other such functions. Some of the out buildings were demolished and others taken over for different uses e.g. the concert venue now known as ?The Dome? which can be seen to the north-west of the Pavilion was built as the Royal stables ( lucky horses!)
