Live At The Fridge - Gong Maison

...Formed in 1970 ' Grobschnitt ' are another of Germanys premier Space Rock outfits and still going strong today i believe. Difficult to describe their style fully as they incorporated so many other elements into their Space Rock........psychedelia , theatrical , humour , progressive. Which in some instances resmembled that of Frank Zappa and Gong with some Pink Floyd ,Yes styles too. ' SOLAR MUSIC LIVE ' has to be one of my all time favourite space rock albums ever. An absolutely mighty live (1978 ) recording. Although there's seven tracks here ,this just flows into one long suite. It's just amazing how this builds from the start with spacey sections, FX and some vocals into some fantastic space rock with mostly twin lead guitars , bass , drums interplay , battling it out in the middle section. Advantages: It's Bowie
Disadvantages: Another version to buy!

...I feel I must say sorry to anyone who has read this already, for some strange reason my first posting for this album has moved to the wrong place so I am re-posting it sorry Milt This is only official audio record of one of the most theatrical and elaborate tours ever attempted by David Bowie in the 70’s. As the front photograph of the album cover shows David Bowie had become ashen and painfully thin, his use of cocaine had become excessive and very obvious. This 2005 reincarnation of this performance from the “Diamond Dogs” 1974 tour is a welcome addition to the live recordings of Bowie, this time the CD has a stereo mix which has been derived from the 5.1 surround mix which is available on the DVD audio version of this recording, which incidentally is a single disc so no having to change discs like this version, call me old... Advantages: Adrenaline Flowing Flod - No complaints!
Disadvantages: I would have had a different set list

...When you hear the words 'Live Album', your mind generally thinks of either shoddy production work, a souvenier from a gig you have been to, or some of teh best music available. This album would be in the latter. This was the album that got me into Pink Floyd, and with me now having all of their back catalogue, it is still my favourite of their works. The Production is studio quality, picking up every hit of Nick Mason's drum wether it be an accidental rim shot or a full on gong. The guitar work, stunningly simple but effective. Dave Gilmour is one of the best users of FX that i have encountered in my time as a musician. Although the bass player is relitavely new, the singers are no where near the original and their's a Noddy Holder look-a-like on rythm guitars, there is little to find fault with in this album.
