Advantages: excellent music, history recorded, Dylan at war with the audience, unique expirence Disadvantages: addictive, NONE!
...much but you struggle to live for long periods without it and just outright need to hear the music. And hearing a new version or new bootleg of his material is a high that is surely better than any drug can offer. Dylan is widely hailed as a genius for the songs he has written and the social change he has influenced, but there are quite a lot of people who say other people are better performing his material. This shows a lack of understanding on ... ...himself. This feature in Dylan's live ability becomes very important to understand when listening to the 1966 bootleg performance. Perhaps you can only truly appreciate what is happening in the audience if you have sat before Dylan and experienced him. But you can get a very good idea without knowing first hand such is the power of the 1966 recording. I kept putting off buying this album because I thought it was going to be 'special' and I spent ...

Advantages: a piece of history Disadvantages: a little expensive.
...Series: Volume 4, Bob Dylan Live 1966, The 'Royal Albert Hall' Concert"... i can't think of a punchier title...
the set-list for the concert of two halves is great, and the re-interpretations on the second side really get a Bob fan excited...
the first side is an acoustic set which many people described at the time as amazing. as they couldn't understand how he was staying on the stool, let alone remembering the words, considering the amount of ... ...tracks, although none of these live up to the majesty of dylan's reworking of "maggie's farm" on hard rain, the first half is a great listen, especially loud, on headphones, late at night, in the dark... it's very intimate, and dylan's piercing harmonica punctuates his stumbling yet brilliant flourishes of guitar...

Additional notes
Album Notes: An official release for arguably the most famous bootleg in the history of popular music. This was Dylan's first 'electric' tour and was met with a bewildering level of hostility, so bad that Levon Helm from The Band (who were backing Dylan) left the tour as a result of the constant abuse. This gig was infamous as it includes a member of the audience calling Dylan Judas before he is drowned out by a furious version of 'Like A Rolling Stone', notoriously mistitled as it's really from Manchester's Free Trade Hall.
