Live/For Earth Below - Robin Trower

Advantages: Soulful lyrics and a wonderful tone to his voice
Disadvantages: Some of the rap was unnecessary, slowed down pace overall

...gem with 'The Evolution of Robin Thicke" being his second album and until recently he has been operating just below the mass market's radar. His style could be compared to Justin Timberlake with some of Al Green thrown in as well as a touch of Jamiroquai ... but I don't really believe in such comparisons. Anyway this would only be a hint to the flavour of the album and would not provide any real sense of his style. I would always recommend that you listen to it yourself, as an unattractive artist comparison can make you miss a good thing. This album shows Thicke's talents to their full and presents the listener with a signature style that has influences from quite various genres. ...CROWDED HOUSE - TIME ON EARTH ---------------------------------------------------- As one great band decides to come back so do I! Long ago in a land not very far from here, infact this very same land, I wrote a few reviews, some of which revolved around music some of these revolved around an Australian/New Zealand band that had been going for almost the entirety of my life….Crowded House. The band formed out of the ashes of Split enz, a new wave style punk/rock/pop/whatever you want band that included Crowded Houses lead singer, Neil Finn and drummer Paul Hestor who sadly committed suicide in 2005. After split enz Neil Finn went on to great things starting with the great self titled album, cunningly titled.. "CROWDED HOUSE". Advantages: Outstanding composition and scoring
Disadvantages: Bit rough around the edges in parts

...Robin Hood Prince of Thieves is a Warner Brothers film starring Kevin Costner as Robin of Locksley and Alan Rickman as an outstanding Sheriff of Nottingham. Also starring in the film are Morgan Freeman, Christian Slater and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, but the show is stolen in the last few seconds by the arrival of Sean Connery as King Richard. This is a review of the score, so I won't describe the plot here apart from to mention that it contains some rather silly moments. The music was composed by Michael Kamen, who sadly died at the age of only 55 in November 2003. His death was a great loss to the music commuity at large, Kamen having worked with a huge variety of musicians, including Queen, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Metallica and Sting as well as his more classical works.
