Advantages: Cliffs of Dover!!!
Disadvantages: A couple of weaker tracks!

Tube?age and checked out a few of his other songs, some of which, similar to ?Cliffs of Dover? were instrumentals again led by a great sounding guitar. So, I was settled, needed to get some of his albums. But which one to start with? At first, I was pretty sure it was going to be ?Ah Via Musicom? his 1990 album, which features the track which I so love, but in HMV, my eyes drifted slightly to another album, the simply named ?Live from Austin, TX?. Hmm, I thought, a live album. Typically speaking, a live album can either be great, or terrible ? either capturing the atmosphere of live music, the feelings, the ambience, the whole lot (i.e. Pink Floyd?s PULSE or Delicate Sound of Thunder), or it can be a bit crappy. Review of Live From Austin TX - Eric Johnson

Eric Johnson - Guitar God

Advantages: Amazing guitaring, classic tunes, good sound
Disadvantages: no dramatics apart from the playing

I have recently bought this DVD and to sum it up straight away it is briliant. Eric performs on the Austin City Limits TV Show But don't by this DVD if your expecting fireworks and stage dramatics!! The reason for this is that Eric Johnson is a perfectionist, he wants every note perfect, while watching Cliffs of Dover you will notice a shake of the head when he muffles 1 note by mistake!! He even such a perfectionist he even makes sure he uses certain batteries in his pedals as that can affect the sound. But back to the DVD, recorded in Austin Texas 14th December 1988. Eric on guitar, Kyle Brock on bass and Tommy Taylor on drums. The sounds Eric can get off his guitar are out of this world. The band are very tight and Johnsons Improvising skills are amazing. Live and let Live.

Advantages: Online multiplayer, priviledges downloads
Disadvantages: Price a little daunting at first, additional hardware required, PS3 online is free
