Her first performance convinced TV viewers the woman was on the point of collapse, as her breathy voice came suspiciously close to hyperventilating and her tiny body seemed to be shaking convulsively. By the second show, it was apparent that this was her way of bringing emotion into her performance. Oh dear.
A stand-up row with drama queens Dollar and a temporary walk-out provided Reborn in the USA with some great scenes to show us. Unfortunately, her singing did not turn out to be anything as memorable.
Thankfully the producers only let her murder one song on the album – Evergreen and no, it’s not the Will Young song. She sings like she is being tortured. Which sums it up really. Ouch.

...One night in April 1998, Justin Hayward and his band performed a concert before a packed house at The CoachHouse Theatre in San Juan Capistrano, California. This DVD is the video recording of that concert in its entirety with (as the sleeve note says) ’nothing edited out’.
For those who know, the Moody Blues have been one of England’s longest serving bands with the most loyal of followings since the middle 1960s. Perhaps best known for their signature single “Nights In White Satin”, they have produced a catalogue of fourteen albums and apart from a six year period in the early 1970s have been almost constantly on tour. They are still on tour to this day (the dates for their 2003 have been released – they open in Atlantic City on March 7th!). Advantages: The voice of an Angel ; Title track being one of the best folk rock songs Disadvantages: Some weak tracks ; Not on the same par as Fairport Convention or Fotheringay
..., Stills Nash and Young, Gram Parsons to name a few, Britain i.e. The most traditionally folk country in the world due to it's marvellous Celtic roots had little to offer.
Sandy Denny's Scottish grandmother sung traditional folk songs which sparked an interest in Sandy to sing and play piano. After departing from school she left to start training as a nurse t the Royal Brompton Hospital but shortly after in 1965 joined the Kingston college of art where she joined and became heavily involved in the on campus folk club. Here she met fellow students JohnRenbourn and Eric Clapton, after singing at a show at Earl's court she was spotted by legends The Strawbs and offered to join the band, where she made one album before leaving to join the saviours of British folk The Fairport Convention.
