Advantages: A great CD start to finish Disadvantages: There's no volume two!
...I just got this CD after downloading tunes from Rashanim's website. It's been on constant play in my car and on the ipod. Highlights include "Ahavah," which could be a weird Twin Peaks soundtrack tune, and the all-out rocker "Zemanim." Master gunslinger Marc Ribot sits in for a few tracks. It would have been great to hear him on the whole record, but the trio proves to be a powerhouse with or without other musicians.
I've recommended Masada Rock to several friends, and everyone who got it loves it. I haven't seen Rashanim live, but word from a friend in NYC is that they out-rock the CD many times over.
Whether you're into rock, surf music, jam music, jazz, Jewish music, whatever-- 'Masada Rock' has it all....

Advantages: Excellent all round preformance Disadvantages: a few more older tracks from first 2 albums would have been nice to hear
...John Mayer returns with his third live album (Any Given Thursday and TRY! were previous live albums). John mayer has progressed from acoustic pop through to progressive blues and this cd is really a milestone of his work so far, and a very impressive one at that.
The cd concentrates on a 3 part preformance with the Acoustic set, Blues set and the full band set. Each set is preformed amazingly by john mayer, and anyone who is a fan of his work has to buy this cd.
Retreiving influences from Jimi Hendrix with his cover of "Bold as love" and "Wait Until Tommorow" and a cover of the much loved Tom Pettys "Free Fallin", this is a cd not to miss! Pure Class from John Mayer as always!...

Advantages: Great sound and fantastic lyrics - a beautiful album. Disadvantages: Too short!!! You'll wish it was twice as long and you'll put it on repeat!
...*******Your Big Day - John Egdell*******
This is a first album for the Newcastle based singer song-writer. After hearing him play live, and buying a copy of his album, I can't help but write favourably of this greatly inspirational artist. He does with music what I try to do with paint and canvas, and he does it with a quiet grace that is not often evident in the up-and-coming music scene. I hope I do his work justice in this review!
***The Artist***
John Egdell is a man of much talent. Born in Gateshead, he has spent much of his life fiddling about with music, and guitars in general, though as far as I know, there's not much by way of musical instruments he can't play. Give him a shaky-egg and he'll blooming shake it and by god there'll be rhythm and blues somewhere in the noise it makes!
Quite simply, he is a gentleman...
