Advantages: A good mix of songs Disadvantages: Doesnt help you get through the housework
...A cd thats a couple of years old now but still fun to listen to.
I mean this cd says its meant to help you through the housework but I personally dont think it really does,if anything it distracts you,because you just start singing along to all the great tracks this album has to offer, you get caught up in the music and completely lose track of what you were doing - maybe a good thing in a way :-)
Housework vol1 is a double album that has some cracking songs that you just dont seem to hear on the radio anymore such as The Beach Boys - Help Me Rhonda and Don McLeans - American Pie.
The songs on this album just make you feel good and really help to lift your spirits,but I honestly think its marketed wrong,this is a feel good album for anyone just not people doing the housework.I dont think the title of the album really represents...

Advantages: Great sense of fun and music abilty, lacking ego! Disadvantages: The Automatic and Fiddy!
...to cover an S Club Seven song, for instance. Because lots of people would say that it would be uncool for Slipknot to do Reach. Har har. Not anymore. Basic idea is that artists' come in to the maida vale studio in London, or the purpose built one in the Radio 1 HQ, and perform 2 songs. One would normally be a popular one, or current single. Usually stripped down and done completely live. The second would be a cover.
This is where the beauty lies, for the bands are more than just stripped of their elecrtic guitars(there are exceptions), but, also their egos tend to be left at the doors as well. Take for instance the second song in on CD1. It is everyones most favoured Sheffield band, The Arctic Monkeys. Noone could question their fame and credibility. What song have they chosen to bite into, none other than Girls Alouds' smash hit...

...-Nazareth
The Top 5 Favourite Tracks in my opinion are definately;
1. Over the Rainbow (Eva Cassidy)
2. Aint No Sunshine (Bill Withers)
3. The Living Years (Mike And The Mechanics)
4. I will always love you (Dolly Parton)
5. Cry Me A River (Julie London)
*Eva Cassidy sings Over the Ranbow so beautifully, she puts so much feeling into it and it just sounds so incredible.
*Aint No Sunshine sang by Bill Withers is such a popular song that there isn't one person that I've met that doesn't know it.
*The Living Years is such a tear-jerker and is so emotional it is definately worth a place in my top 5. It always gets me when, in the lyrics, he says his dad died before he managed to tell him he was going to be a grandad.
*I will always love you is a song I've known for years, it's so moving and the whole lyrics are basically that she's leaving...
