It's cheap and cheerful, but frankly not very good. Iggy Pop was not, let's be honest, in the best of shape in 1981. This album was recorded at the end of a long bout of touring in support of one of his least loved albums - Party. Now Iggy is usually worth seeing in concert and this album is actually the soundtrack of a home video / DVD which is still available. The film shows a rather inebriated Iggy giving a half-hearted performance with only flashes of his usual brilliance. The fact that he's wearing suspenders and stockings adds to the uneasiness. But at least it makes the film worth seeing. The CD, on the other hand, just come across as half-cocked. The band aren't bad, but aren't especially impressive either (despite the presence of Bowi'e guitar player Carlos Alomar) and iggy's half mumbled half shouted vocals just sound bad at times. A few songs are worth hearing - "I Need More" is pretty good for example but on the whole this is not Iggy at his best and is really only one for the die hard Iggy fan. The studio tracks were recorded in 1983 with the Cars Ric Ocasek producing. These have been bootlegged to death and if you need them can bee found on dozens of other cds.
