If you are into house music and want a good old dance in your front room, this album is just what you need. It's fat, it's chunky, and it's most certainly funky!

The album kicks off with an incredible bootleg: Underworld's "Born Slippy" is mixed with "Bird of Prey" by Fatboy himself and it sounds great! Then comes "Austin's Groove" by Kid Creme. WHAT A TUNE THIS IS!
A whole host of classic house tunes await you and some amazing fat slices of underground house you have never heard before. Huge tracks such as Basement Jaxx's "Where's Your Head At" and the nice and naughty "Star 69" by Fatboy Slim. My personal favourite is a tune called "Rocket Base". It is from a little known Dutch artist called Jark Prongo and man is it one fat tune. I wasn't at this gig but man after hearing this cd I wish I was! I simply can't find a bad song on it!
I recommend this to anyone who simply likes good dance music, but a word of warning: Don't buy this album expecting Fatboy Slim's own work or anything similar for that matter. This is pure house not Bigbeat, but don't be put off. You will not be dissapointed!

Album Notes
This is a continuous in-the-mix CD compiled and mixed by Fatboy Slim. This live document of Fatboy Slim's homecoming to his adopted town of Brighton, England, is designed to be played at maximum volume in the company of as many sweaty friends and total strangers as you can safely gather in your chosen venue. Whether it's your living room, local bar or remote field somewhere, a Fatboy Slim album is a practical guarantee of good times and impeccable dance mixes, and LIVE ON BRIGHTON BEACH doesn't disappoint. From the heraldic opening of Underworld's "Born Slippy" which segues into Slim's own "Right Here Right Now," the beat almost never lets up (save for a latter-day Woodstock-type announcement sample). It's fascinating to hear Slim bringing the crowd to the brink again and again while never letting them escape his sonic clutches. Highlights include the frantic "Put Your Hands Up in the Air," and the ethereal introduction to "Star 69," (featuring a witty and highly appropriate Queen "Bohemian Rhapsody" sample) which will almost transport you to the British south coast seaside town and the company of a few thousand happy ravers.
