Advantages: packed full of lyrical goodies Disadvantages: one or two slightly weaker songs
...I bought this album after attending and absolutely loving my first Alkaline Triolive show. I had heard several random tracks before that, but this was the first proper album that I bought of theirs - I then listened to it non-stop for two weeks, and is still my favourite album of theirs now!
Alkaline Trio are a three-strong band of what I like to call the Dark Punk genre. They play punk rock-esque riffs, but in a very minor-sounding key, as if they had been recorded over a wall of black noise, if you can imagine that. This combined with the fact that the lyrics are very introspective and mostly regretful make this music the perfect music to listen to whilst depressed and alone in your room, it feels like you can really identify the lyricist, Matt Skiba, as if he wrote these words whilst sitting alone in his bedroom. However, having...

Advantages: The single Disadvantages: Boring, one paced dirge
...The Cure were one of a number of boy bands in the early 80's who rode the wave of punk to make a living from their particular brand of moody introspective soft rock.

Faith was a low key affair, with the overall feeling of facelessness which had been the dominant theme on the last outing continuing, but this time the whole album was monochrome, with similarly drab music.
Apart from the relatively exciting single Primary this was a disappointment, one paced and morbid, with the Cure starting to disappear up their own rear ends.
Listen to it - The Funeral Party, Doubt, The Drowning Man - hardly inspiring titles are they.
They came back to life...

Blink go soft Review ofAdams song - Blink 182by
Bammargera2762
Advantages: Serious and moody with some cool riffs Disadvantages: doesen't have blinks happy go lucky vibe
...In comparison to the rest of the songs on their albumn Enema of the State, Blink 182 succeed in writing a song that can be taken seriously. Because they use simple feelings and lyrics to get their point across, makes it original, thought provoking without you having to get the dictionary out. Its easy listening thats enjoyable too.
Not under the usual genre of pop punk with their infamous 'humour',Adam's song is a soft rock tune that expresses some pretty strong feelings and emotions. Its' a melodic tune, with sum cool guitar riffs and the singing actually plausible for this pop punk trio.
The songs about a troubled youth who basically wants to lock himself in his room and let the world go by. Full of teen angst and those pretty depressing feeling we ALL have means you have been able to relate to this song at some point...
