Having read some other peoples opinions I find it hard to believe that they do not enjoy such a great album. Being a bit of a Metallica fan it was only time until I reviewed another one of their cd's, so here goes, this review will be 100 times better then my rubbish black album review! I found this cd to be a mix of heavy songs and softer ones, a nice mix songs, some not so good, but some awesome ones. I'll go through them song by song, well I'll try to anyway! Ok here goes
Ain't My Bitch. A nice n heavy one with great rythem and flowing lyrics (in my op :)). Very cool indeed, play it nice and loud, heh. 9/10
2X4. Cool intro, sounds like a classicy sort of rock song in my opinion. Doesn't flow quite as well as the first song, with some corny lyrics (but the sound cool some times, but I hate the crappy sounding "retrobution" bit). It's enjoyable though, I like it. 7/10
The House That jack Built. A softer one, but an utter corker of a song. Great sounding singing, with what sound like meaningful lyrics. An utterly cool song. It gets a bit heavier after the intro, but still stays great. I love the chorus, sounds very nice indeed. 9/10
Until It Sleeps. A nice soft one again, but once again it's a FANTASTIC song. One of the best on the cd by far, in my opinion on par with "nothing eles matters"! It's a great song, and one I will be getting the guitar tablature for! 10/10
King of Nothing. One of the more "metallica" sounding tunes, with Hetfirlds usual vocals. Cool, nice 'n heavy. Good lyrics too. 7/10
Hero of the Day. Now this is the best song on the cd. One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, wow, metallica are such a talented band, they can do so many styles of music! Great tune, great lyrics, listen, it's just great. 10/10
Bleeding Me. Good tune, cool guitar bits, and some nice vocals. The wah wah sounding bits are cool. I've used the word cool too much... 8/10
Cure. A real rock sorta tune, heavy guitars and voices. Not really my sort of tune, but it's good. A bit dull in my opionion. 6/10
Poor Twisted Me. Nice guitar intro with the reverb :). and it sounds liek metallica a mile off. Good tune, but once again, no where near the best stuff. Some crap sounding bits though. 7/10
Wasting My Hate. Softer one again, but no! Thats only at the start, it then goes into "hard assed" rock. Nice, a tune to play loud again! Good rythem as usual! 8/10
Mama Said. Soft acustic tune, but nice as hell. Hetfields lyrics singing is amazing. A few corny lyrics in one or too places but the actual tune is fantastic, the chorus is real damn fine. Great tune, well worth listening too. 10/10
Thorn Within. Heavy guitars in true Metallica style, a nice and heavy song, a nice change after "mama said"! I like it, but some people may not. (warning, contains a crappy sounding confession bit) 8/10
Ronnie. Funky Guitar bits, cool beat, sounds like a more classicy rock tune, but with heavy rock overtunes. Cool as hell (darn I said "cool" again), the lyrics may be corny but who cares when it's such an enjoyabletune. 9/10
The Outlaw Torn. A good final song, this rocks totally and utterly. Gawp at it's coolness. 10/10
Ok thats it, it's a great cd, and if anyoen says otherwise, ignore them, I got it for a tenner, and it was worth every penny. For an over all cd rating I'd give it 9/10. Go one buy.
