Now I can 'loop together!'

Advantages: Great taste, great packaging, good for you
Disadvantages: Nothing really

I spent my time growing up not being able to eat Honey Nut Loops because I have a nut allergy. You know: 'Kellogg's Honey Nut Loops, let's loop together!' Yeah, well, not me, I'm afraid. Yet the idea of Honey Loop cereal always appealed to me. Our weekly shop usually involves buying the same old cereal week in week out, but this week, I let my 5 year old son choose the cereal. He chose this one: Kellogg's Honey Loops. Finally, I have the chance to try honeyed loops without fear of triggering my allergy against nuts! Sold in a 375g box, it costs a little over £1, or at least it did this week from Tesco. A 30g serving (recommended bowl size) gives you just voer 100 calories. It's low in fat, with 10g of sugars, and will give you 20% of a child's daily iron requirement, and also around a quarter of other daily requirements for adults ...

Smartprice spaghetti loops - Will you loop the loop for them?

Advantages: Cheap price, recyclable packaging.
Disadvantages: Average product, sauce is a little thin.

I am always looking for new foods to try and products on a shelf that I have not tried before. I recently spotted these smartprice spaghetti loops in my local Asda at the bargain price of 14p per tin. The can is very basic, a recyclable can with a paper recyclable label with basic graphics just showing a spaghetti loop and that this is from the Asda smartprice range. There is no ring pull on the can but of course this is just to cut costs wherever possible (and is fine with me if it saves me a few pennies!). Upon opening the can I am a little disappointed as the product seems a little watery, although there are quite a lot of spaghetti loops in the can. I pour the contens of the can in to a saucepan and heat on a medium-high heat for around 4 minutes, stirring continuously. The sauce does not really thicken upon heating ...

Review of Asda Smartprice Spaghetti Loops in Tomato Sauce

Nicholas Evans The Loop - definately worth a read!

Advantages: A fantastic story conveying a range of emotions both from the characters and within the reader.
Disadvantages: I couldn't put it down so finished it too quickly.

I have just finished reading Nicholas Evans' The Loop for the second time and was amazed at how much I still loved it. The descriptiveness of the character's surroundings paint such a vivid picture and draw you in almost as if you were there. This is definately a book that you just don't want to put down. Evans effortlessly guides you through the past and present lives of the characters, building the readers understanding of current emotions and behaviour. This is true of not only the human characters but also of the wolves. I felt that he was showing the similarities in behaviour between human and wolf and the lack of understanding of these similarities which is what leads us to want to remove them in order to remain the higher ranking of the species. As with his other books a rollercoaster of emotions runs throughout this story ...
