Album Notes: Flying Lotus is the musical alias of Steven Ellison, great-nephew of Alice Coltrane and creator of some of the Cartoon Network's wackier promo music for the cult series Adult Swim. Odd personal details notwithstanding, FlyLo (as he is known to fans) is first and foremost a hip-hop producer; especially if the definition of hip-hop stretched to included fractured beats and a pervasive free-jazz influence. LOS ANGELES, the young producer's debut, is steeped in slippery analog electronics, anchored by the loose, swing-heavy boom-bap of contemporary masters such as J Dilla and Madlib.
Album Reviews: Spin (p.98) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "Flying Lotus' spaced-out visions are the album's trump card, a computerized mesh of hip-hop beats at dub-like tempos."

...I've just lately downloaded Rage against the machine's album; "the battle of LosAngeles". It's worth listening to but i really wouldn't go overbored about it.
I Only bothered getting it because i was so impressed with the song off the matrix sound track ( "rage against the machine - wake up" )
This is just my view but i havn't yet heared much of their older albums so i cannot make i great judgment of it.
To conclude i can say that It is quite a good CD and i'm not at all disapointed that i downloaded it!...

Advantages: this album ROCKS Disadvantages: will open your eyes to the shame of the world. Once your mind is free, you won't be able o return to the state of blissful ignorance.
...This is one of the best rock albums I've ever heard. The Battle of LosAngeles features the tracks "Guerilla Radio" as well as "Sleep Now in the Fire" and "New Millenium Homes" Not only is this highly inspiring and enteraining rock music, it makes points that need to be made. For the Sleep Now in the Fire video, Rage Against the Machine succeeded in closing down the Wall Street Stock Exchange, despite police interference and the arrest of the video director. They also covered the statue of George Washington in paint. For the Guerilla Radio video, children are shown putting clothes toghether with sewing machines against a white background like the Gap advertisment. The message "everyone in denial" then appears on screen.
Back then it was the stock exchange. Could the rumours be true about 7pm tonight at the Republican Convention? I hope...
