When I think of the film The LostBoys, I instantly think of the soundtrack, and when I think of any song on the soundtrack, I instantly think of the film.
Films and their soundtracks are often separable, but not with The LostBoys - a couple of the tracks are hard to notice in the film, but the rest are very noticeable and integral parts...

Advantages: Excellent rapping, as always, and Dream is brilliant Disadvantages: It lacks the originality and excitement of his debut
...or widen his appeal to a larger audience, and I would have to agree, although this is not necessarily a wholly bad thing. The beats are certainly less heavy than in Boy In Da Corner, and his lyrics can sometimes sway towards the typical "American" hip-hop that is so repetitive these days (e.g. guns, sex, drugs and look at me I'm really hard). And so the uniqueness of Boy In Da Corner is pretty much lost. However, if it brings his music to more listeners, I suppose it must have its benefits.
I nearly forgot to mention the DVD element of this album. As well as the main album, there is a DVD with the videos for I Luv U, Fix Up Look Sharp, Jus' A Rascal and Stand Up Tall. Although the menu for this DVD is kind of complicated to use, it's the videos that are important, and I think this is an excellent addition to the package. The four songs...

Advantages: Timeless songs Disadvantages: It was released so long ago
...see but I don't know
I care but I don't care
I could but I won't be
You can but not with me
It's all a mystery”
Rating 3/10
7. 11:59 (3:20)
The songs begins horrendously fast but in the days of punk this was the done thing! Debbie’s voice is very strong in this track but again there are underlying connotations of The Undertones on this track. Another fast song, not one of the best tracks.
“Today can last another million years
Today could be the end of me
It's 11:59 and I want to stay alive
Hanging on a frequency burning like a fire
Boy you've got the motion down
It's getting late I'm tired and I've lost control”
Rating 6/10
8. Will Anything Happen? (3:00)
An echoing guitar starts this track, followed by a very fast drum beat and accompanying guitar. The vocals then come in. Debbie almost seems to talk and sing at the same time...

Advantages: Brings back fantastic memories of my youth... Disadvantages: I can't go back, unfortunately...
...I remember watching the film as a teenager. Fabulous! I remember going to college the next day and everyone talking not about the film, but about the soundtrack. What memories...
People Are Strange, originally by The Doors, but this time sung by Echo And The Bunnymen was and, to me, still is the best track, although Cry Little Sister peformed by Gerrard McMann is a close second. This is the films theme tune and is perfect with its haunting drums and vocals. Wow, I feel the hairs on the back of my neck now thinking about it.
And only Roger Daltry could make Elton John's 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me' be worth listening to, even if the song itself doesn't quite fit the film. The performance of The Who's frontman is exceptional.
A truly amazing soundtrack. I'm off now to listen to it again......

Advantages: All the favourites packed into one CD Disadvantages: Only one new song
...was reading Tracey2002's op on this album and apparently Brian met his wife on the set to this video. Shes a lucky gal, thats all I can say!
SHOW ME THE MEANING OF BEING LONELY
This is quite a slow song and isn't as upbeat. Its a brilliant song though and the lyrics are excellent. The boys voices really do this song justice as well. The song was taken from the boys third album "Millenium" and was released in 1998.
QUIT PLAYING GAMES (WITH MY HEART)
This song was taken from the boys very first album "Backstreet boys" Its another love song about being messed around and is really catchy. I dont remember this song as a single but I've seen the video. The boys are very young but its shot in the rain and they have their shirts unfastened (very nice!!)any way I'm wandering off the point. This song is one of the more upbeat love songs and was released...
