I recently reviewed the film Love Actually in which I wrote of what a great film, I thought it was, and that it was different in the way that there were so many stories going on all at one, however it did not make it confusing in any way, shape or form.
One of the other reasons, what makes Love Actually a great film is the soundtrack. A film can be great, however without the right songs in the appropriate places, it can actually spoil the film.
Love Actually has a wide range of songs within the film, majority of them being very well known, which makes it even better if you know the song, you are more likely to associate yourself with the film more and appreciate it.
Although Love Actually has been around for quite a while now, the songs on the soundtrack are very well chosen and make listening to the album easy, because they are a great variety of tracks.
Girls Aloud - Jump (For My Love)
Although it was not the version that was in Love Actually, the track is a great feel good song and was definitely in the right place, where Daniel Cleaver has it playing into Downing Street and starts dancing to it, thinking that no-one was actually watching however got caught by one of the maids. It is one of those tracks though if you are in the house, you will start to sing along to it and then possibly get a little carried away and start dancing.
Sugababes - Too Lost in You
I get mixed up with the Sugababes and Atomic Kitten for some reason, they have both seen many members leave and new recruits come on board. I think Too Lost in You is one of the better songs that the Sugarbabes have come up with and fits appropriately into the various scenario's within the film.
Dido - Here With Me
I love Dido full stop, and still listen to her albums in my car. Here With Me has got to be one of the song amongst a couple of others that she is most famous for. When this track is played in the movie, it send shudders down my spine, as they play the chorus only at a particular moment, where one of the characters wants to declare his undying for his best friends new wife. He is indecisive as to whether he does it, the words in the song "I Can't Be Until You Are Resting Here With Me"
The Calling - Wherever You Will Go
When I bought the soundtrack, and this track was on, I couldn't quite place where the song had been featured on the actual film and was quite surprised because this particular track has got to be one of my favourites on the soundtrack and has also got to be one of the best songs that The Calling have produced. After viewing the film again to find out where the song actually featured, it is only briefly, and is not played long enough to do it justice.
Gabrielle - Sometimes
Gabrielle has one of the unique voices that can add enjoyment to any movie purely because of the way that she sings her songs. This particular track, initially I wasn't familiar with, however listening to it a couple of times, its one of those that grow on you as times goes on.
Additional Tracks
