Gwen stefani has gone solo leaving her old band no doubt behind her. Her new solo album is called' Love .angel .music. baby '(the names of her harajuku girls -the japanese dancers that perform with her) the album features famous artists such as , eve ,johnny vulture, and andre 3000.
It has 2 bonus tracks 'the real thing'with wendy and lisa flow in it as a jam mix which is produced by nellee hooper and the second being 'what you waiting for?' elevator mix by greg collins and brian key-mu purely instrumental and rather boring for those fans of gwen stefani lets the album down.
The inside sleeve of the album contains all the lyrics for each song and some production information
1. What you waiting for?- produced by Nellee hooper, recorded by greg collins and ian rossiter , back ground vocals mimi (audia) parker. The famous and popular hit release single from gwen stefani , which i, myself am personnally getting bored of it as it is over played on radio stations and often find myself skipping to the next song.
2.Rich girl -featuring eve, produced by dr. dre and also mixed by dr. dre. The most recent hit release is rich girl , which i love. a combination of guitar, bass and keyboard this is such a catchy tune , which is an adaption of the famous song 'Rich man' from 'fiddler on the roof' nothing for me will ever beat the vocals of 1971 star topol! but it hardly sounds like it so i can let it go.
3.Hollaback girl-produced by the neptunes, recorded by andrew coleman and mixed by phil tan. Contains a small amount of swearing and shouting but overall an excellent song with simple repetative lyrics and tune and ever so catchy.
4.cool-produced by dallas austin bith additional production by nellee hooper, with line 6 guitars, bass, drums and keyboard an upbeat song which isn't very memorable just a filler for the album .
5.Bubble pop electric featuring johnny vulture and also produced by johnny vulture and he also does programming , guitar and keyboards. a truelly awesome song and i wouldn't be suprised if this was her third release off the album apart from holla back girl.
6.Luxurious-produced by nellee hooper and tony kanal , another disappointing filler from gwen, a slow moving song with nothing specail to it.
7.Harajuku girls- produced by jimmy jam and terry lewis for flyte tyme productions inc., background vocals zoey and naomi martin. Another possible release for Gwen she sings about love, angel music and baby hence the title harajuku girls.
8.Crash- produced by tony kanal , yet ANOTHER disappointment, nothing specail to it and not paticularily memorable!
9.The real thing Produced by nellee hooper with additional production by mark '' spike '' stent and background vocals by Bernard sumner. An alright tune easy listening .
10.Serious- produced by tony kanal additional production by mark '' spike '' stent and again tony kanal for programming, keyboards and synthesizers , a great tune very catchy but not a hit single.
11.danger zone- produced by nellee hooper and dallas austin, midi and sound design by rick sheppard. catchy tune nothing specail bit of a filler but not bad.
12. long way to go- featuring and produced by andre 3000. a lovely song another possible release for gwen and andre ( singer from duo outkast) it contains strong racial views upon society today.
all in all a fantastic album definately worth buying not very typical of gwen stefani's style very original and great to listen to.
