Even though I am not a major fan of Frank I have a huge liking for this album and thought I had to tell you about it. I only own this album as I mostly download my songs but as I was going to buy ?Love Ire and Song? but decided on this one instead which i was greatly impressed by. Who Is Frank Turner? I wouldn?t know why anyone wouldn?t have heard of him but for those who haven?t Frank Turner is a Folk song writer and singer who was a former vocalist for the punk band Million Dead. He was born in 1981 and has released several successful albums including the compilation album ?The First Three Years?. Frank became known when he joined Million Dead in 2001 and stayed with them for four years releasing two albums; after they spilt he decided to become solo and has done many shows around London. First Three Years Those Were The Days

Advantages: Brilliant vocal technique, wonderful songs, Reasonable price
Disadvantages: Some may find it a bit boring depending if they like folk music or not

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When the album ?The First Three Years? was first released there was a feeling that it was just going to be looked at as a stop-gap whilst people waited for Frank Turner to release his new album, but it is much more than just a stop-gap. Seeing as I was new to Frank Turner there was a lot for me to catch up on and being able to purchase an album that charted his first three years was truly a wonderful asset. There is genuinely good quality music on this album and it is honestly worth listening to. If you are a huge fan of Frank Turner's then you might already have some of the songs in your collection, but it is good to have an album that contains all of the songs together. My friend has this album and she still has some of the singles that Frank released. I love the Truck Session version of Imperfect Tense, this is on Frank Turner ...

Frank Turner - Love, Ire & Song

Advantages: Another top helping of folk rock music
Disadvantages: Not quite as good as his debut helping

And there I was thinking what to write my latest helping of review stew on...and having written a review on his first album it would be stupid not to review his latest album. Ipso facto, here it is!! For those who haven't seen my review on his debut album "Sleep is for the Week", (hint hint!) the man is Frank Turner, former lead singer of punk band Million Dead, and the album is "Love, Ire & Song" - his second solo album, released back in March this year on Xtra Mile Records. His first helping of folk-rock tracks about lost loves and drunken evenings was a fantastic record. Showing a song-writing side that many people knew he could produce, but to do it consistently through a 13-track album showed great prowess and talent.
