...this CD doesn't have my all-time favourite BuddyHollysong "Listen To Me" (the one with a beautiful shimmering guitar backing) it does have 12 exceptional tracks.
Younger listeners brought up in this age where multilayered production and bottom-end engineering in the studio can cover up a multitude of a band's sins will hear these spare, simple recordings and laugh. For me their very simplicity is endearing. Take the song Everyday, which consists of a little percussion, some chimes and Holly hiccoughing the lyrics. So simple a school band could do it. Think It Over, with its "ba ba ba" backing and charming lyrics "think it over what you just said, think it over in your pretty little head, are you sure I am not the one, is this love real or only fun?"

Advantages: A good best of Buddy CD Disadvantages: I really cannot think of any
...have had a lot to contribute to the music of today. As it is he was a great influence on the Beatles (You can see the influence in their early tracks). Without the Beatles who knows - no Oasis definately - but who else. As it is there is a definate and strong link between Buddy and the music of today so which self respecting music fan would not have this CD as part of their collection?
12 wonderful tracks from the balads of "Maybe Baby" and "Raining in my Heart" to the fast moving "Its so Easy" and "Peggy Sue" and all for around £5 - you cant go wrong!
