Advantages: Amazing vocals, guitar playing, strong melodies Disadvantages: Sadly a tendency towards blandness
fantastic. The scat vocals add to the jazz flavour of the song and give it a wonderful, fresh sound. The song was already 30 years old when Benson recorded it over 30 years ago, but the novice would never know. A great combination of funk, soul and jazz.
"Love Ballad"
This is probably my favourite GeorgeBenson song. It starts with amazing scat vocals harmonising with his guitar over an uptempo track. Benson's vocals are soaring over the string arrangement and it is optimistic, happy and sincere. If there is one song alone that shows the amazing talents of Benson as both a singer and a guitarist, its this one. Only a minor hit back in 1979 but it still gets airplay today.
"Shiver"
This was Benson's last big hit in 1986 and is unmistakeably Benson from the start with his trademark scat vocals and guitar playing. Very much ...
Advantages: A superb introduction to the Emerald Isle's walking possibilities... Disadvantages: ...so long as you've been previously introduced to walking in the first place
Wouldn't it be lovely if it was possible to discover a new country entirely at one's own pace? Cruising around at random, going where your whims and fancies took you...staying awhile ('a while' being 'as long as you like') at all the secret and wonderful places you happened upon, drinking in the mystery and the culture...and feeling steered by the vagaries and quirks of fate.

Our leisure, our holidays, need to be accompanied by a bit more of a quality guarantee than pure chance supplies, and so it's wise to seek the advice of a knowledgeable authority ...
Advantages: Beautiful period piece with a great cast and there are sword fights guys. Disadvantages: It's a girly, romantic film and nothing blows up. Sorry guys.
Another Sunday on my own has rolled around (husband on a stag do in the Peak District) so it's time for another girly film review. Sorry men! I am realising that my taste in film may be coming across as a little shallow, but in 1998 everyone fell inlove with "Shakespeare inLove" which went home from the Oscars with 7 awards including Best Picture. A decade later, does it still hold up?
THE PREMISE
Shakespeare (Joseph Fiennes) has written a couple of plays, but is no match for the brilliance of the playwright of the day, Christopher Marlowe (Rupert Everett) and still a player for hire who dreams of greater things. Something of a womaniser, Shakespeare has writer's block when it comes to his latest work, "Romeo and Ethel the Pirate's Daughter" because he cannot find his muse.
Meanwhile the beautiful and wealthy Viola De ...
