There were those who shared an extremely close relationship with Freddie: his mother Jer Bulsara, and sister Kashmira; Mary Austin; Diana Moseley, who designed his public and private wardrobe; Peter Freestone, his personal assistant; and Jim Hutton, his companion at the time of his death. Outside of this close circle there were the friends, photographers, record producers, and record bosses; and from Zanzibar and St Peter's school in Panjghani, India, the relatives, school friends, and his first child sweetheart, Gita R Goshi. Together here talking about the times they shared with him, they weave the rich tapestry that was the life of Freddie Mercury, 'Lover of Life.'DVD2: Singer Of Songs... The Solo Videos:Specially remixed for 5.1 DTS surround sound audio, this compilation of Freddie's videos offers the opportunity to revisit such classic moments in Freddie's solo career as the majesty of Freddie and Montserrat Caballe and fountains and fireworks in 'Barcelona'; Freddie and 300 Amazonian women in 'I Was Born To Love You'; men in women's clothing in 'Living On My Own'; and Freddie recreating some of his personal favourite video characters in 'The Great Pretender.' The extended version of 'The Great Pretender' video is Freddie at his most playful: theatricals, colourful language - and frocks to match. The DVD closes with the 1993 remix of 'Living On My Own', which two years after his death, gave him a posthumous No. 1 throughout Europe. Originally banned by his record company, the video is made up of footage from Freddie's 1985 Munich party that remains the most talked about and vividly recalled of all of Freddie's birthday bashes. Across all of Freddie's videos, this perhaps more than any other most captures the uncontainable spirit of Freddie Mercury, 'Singer of Songs'.

FreddieMercury-Lover Of Life, Singer Of Songs DVD
I had this DVD bought for me for my birthday in November 2006 when it had just come out. I also have the FreddieMercury CD "Lover Of Life, Singer Of Songs, The VeryBest Of FreddieMercurySolo" being a big Queen and Freddie fan.
I love the name of the CD and DVD as I think it sums Freddie up perfectly, as it says on the back of the DVD booklet, it was Brian May's inscription for the FreddieMercury statue in Montreux. The CD and DVD were released for what would've been Freddie's 60th birthday if he was still alive.
There are two DVD's included-

Not to mention the wonderful out takes on the cd`s if you are a life long fan like myself a fan since 1973 then that's says 2 things 1 i`m old and 2 mentally addicted to Freddie`s voice its a well know fact in my family mum has to have her Freddie fix then her Brian fix and so on a must for every old/real fan some of the out takes you can almost see them doing in your mind its Magic really it is one of the best collection you could own. ...

Living on my Own - Me and my sister have so much fun singing to this song. It has such easy lyrics... "I don't have no time for no monkey business". It is again, quite camp and far from being a masterpiece but I don't care, it's great fun. Great piano solo too.
Love Kills - The lyrics are good on this one, and it's no stunner, but it's a good song and if you enjoy just listening to Mercury singing this song won't disappoint.
Barcelona - Well, where do you start with SUCH a track. This was the theme to the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. If you don't know it, well it's an epic piece of music. Mercury duets with opera singer Monserrat Caballe, and is at his verybest performing this song. Caballe has a beautiful voice and brings the climaxes in so spectacularly you can picture the beauty they sing about. Absolutely perfect.
