Albert Lee to an already powerful core of Ricky Skaggs, Glen D Hardin, Rodney Crowell, and Hank DeVito. Harris's mix of material remained eclectic, but confident, with room for everybody from the Carter Family and the Louvin Brothers to Chuck Berry and Townes Van Zandt, who contributes his masterful "Pancho & Lefty". In addition to the requisite Gram Parsons tunes, Harris also gently tackles the country standard "Making Believe". --Marc Greilsamer

...With a growing Stateside following in 1982, Iron Maiden were now in the superstar league and seemed in grave danger of losing contact with their working class roots. In keeping with their new luxury, tax exile lifestyle, they chose to record their fourth album, Piece Of Mind, in the Bahamas, with Martin Birch again producing. By now, Clive Burr had left the group and been replaced by ex Pat Travers and Trust drummer Nicko McBain. The album entered the charts at number 3 while the band toured Britain, and contained two UK Top Twenty singles in Flight Of Icarus and The Trooper as well as To Tame A land, considered by many to be Harris’ best song.
Other major tracks on the album include Die With Your Boots On, Quest For Fire, Sun And Steel and Revelations.
It was probably their strongest set to date, showing few signs of a plush...

...There's a strangely uneven quality to this collection of songs by Sheryl Crow. It's as if they were all penned hastily on the plane somewhere on the journey from Nashville to LA. Musically, that seems to be the trip Sheryl Crow's always taking. At times, the lyrics are vacuous, almost embarrassing, paper thin. In that context, it's extraordinary to read in the sleeve notes that 'the album was a three year labour of love'. Then she hits you with a couple of gems - 'Safe And Sound' and 'Weather Channel', both of which are dark, incisive and brooding. Remaining songs feature some searing guest vocals from DonHenley, Lenny Kravitz and EmmylouHarris. Crow has also described 'C'mon, c'mon' as a 'fiasco of a project', and that's probably closer to the truth. But the production lifts her, and her voice is still outstanding - close...
