Having wrapped filming on Trouble In Mind, Alan Rudolph went to work on his next movie. Having been inspired by Divine's performance as someone not in the movie too much, but having a presence across the whole piece. He sought out an unusual character for one of his key players in his next movie Made In Heaven. Divine declined the offer to follow Rudolph into this project having already agreed to work on Hairspray with his old buddy John Waters. Adapted in America

Advantages: Entertaining and educational
Disadvantages: Some bits are more interesting than others

It?s hard to define a book that incorporates etymology, history, culture, sociology and a huge amount of humour; the best I can do is to rather vaguely term it ?a complete success and a pleasure to read?. Literary Review puts it a little more succinctly as ?a triumph?, but I don?t think that even that high praise describes exactly how much information and entertainment Bill Bryson has managed to pack into this book. On the surface, it is an investigation of American English and how it?s been shaped through America?s relatively short history, but (as I hope you will see by reading this review) Made In America is so much more than that... This is a book for all those snobs who sneer at ?Americanisms? and claim that the influx of American words, phrases and usages are damaging English ? they will be shocked to learn just how much ...

Review of Made in America - Bill Bryson

All the music ever made, ever, in your pocket.

Advantages: Vast capacity, feels well made, incredibly simple to use
Disadvantages: A bit on the chunky side

This is my second iPod purchase in 3 years. I previously had the 30GB video black. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it, but I needed something to better accommodate my rapidly expanding music collection. Ipods are achingly, horribly trendy. Stick a lower case "i" in front of anything and it immediately becomes cool. Seriously, keep your eyes peeled for an iPope. Over the years the iPod has changed in size and shape, and it's learnt more and more tricks along the way, but it still has its one key selling point - simplicity. Personally, I can live with the burden of owning something fashionable if it makes my days go by that little bit easier. So anyway, I'll do a bit-by-bit review and we can see what's what.
