This was originally issued in the latest form that has been released, minus the remix tracks. It was called Madonna and had the current cover. Then, when she went and become a megastar, it was re-issued with an awful photo in which she looked like Cruella de Ville and was entitled ‘The First Album’. In my opinion, the best version to have is the very original, but this is second best. It’s Madonna’s least exciting album to date - it’s pure 80’s dance-pop, very mainstream, yet catchy. No boundaries were pushed at this stage in her career, and quite frankly, it was hard to predict what would come later. The extra remixes on this new version are nothing special either - just extensions of the same songs.
