Advantages: Great looks, esp the MG Turbo, cheap to run Disadvantages: Rust
5 years ago, my father and I were looking around a second-hand car dealer. I was on the lookout for my first car. I had saved up for months, and I was ready to spend my hard-earned cash!! "How about this one?" my Dad asked. He had found a G reg Rover Maestro 1.3L. My first thought was "it?s an old mans car" but just to keep the peace, I had a look. The car was very clean and tidy, but with a few rust spots on the wheel arches. The Interior was very simple and looked surprisingly modern for a car of that age. I was so impressed with it, I took it for a test drive and later bought it.
I didn?t realise that this would be the beginning of 5 very happy years of motoring. The 1.3 never let me down, and the only repair work I had done was for the exhaust and the front brakes - even that was usual wear and tear!

"Cats in the Belfry" is a book that I first read many years ago and I can honestly say that, for me, it was truly a life changing experience, mainly because it made me determined to own (or be owned by) Siamese cats. It is a delightful book written by Doreen Tovey and will appeal to cat lovers everywhere.
When Doreen and her husband Charles moved to their cottage in the West Country the locals (as is usually the way) were suspicious. They soon got the reputation of being somewhat strange when they adopted a baby squirrel which Doreen carried to London with her to make sure it didn't miss a feed. Unfortunately, the squirrel didn't live more than a few months and their cottage seemed very empty - that is, until the mice arrived! They decided that a cat was needed to keep the mice down.
