Magnetic Fields - Jean Michel Jarre

...albums to stand out. Magnetic Fields Part 1- There are several different sections to part one and i do like them all. I like the 1st bit because it's upbeat but sufficiently trancy enough for modern clubbers to still enjoy & want to buy as a chill out but it's still something you could dance to. That's basically the opening 6 minutes. You then get a quietish section which eventually becomes a track I am convinced sounds a whole lot like Fishing ...
...as its quite uplifting. Magnetic Fields Part 2 - It's known and loved It's been used on the telly & for adverts, its been copied by every synth band known to man I think it was also used on the C64 version of Bombjack as background music. Magnetic Fields Part 3 - the track that reminds me of Orient Express (again from Concerts In China) because of the train sounds on the intro, This is a very "plinky plonky " track. ...I was already a fan of Jean-Michel Jarre before I bought this album. I already had ''Oxygene'', ''Equinoxe'' and ''Magnetic Fields'', so I thought I knew what to expect. ''Zoolook'' was way beyond my expectations. A far punchier feel, using experimental samples (which was new then) of real instruments such as drums and bass guitars. What makes it really stand out is how he recorded it. He sampled human voices, various phrases from all over world, and edited them in the keyboards to create captivating sonic textures and rythmic patterns. Some tracks are wonderfully atmospheric, whilst others bounce along and lift you up. This is still my favourite Jarre album by far. Track listing... 1. Ethnicolor 2. Diva 3. Zoolook 4.
