Advantages: a nice one
Disadvantages: hardly any new ideas

...On the sixth stuido album by the Alan Parsons Project released in 1982, the dedicated listener notices first signs of fading creativity and growing demotivation. This CD was followed by a creative break, scarcely covered with a medium Best-Of, after which the once legendary Project was practically finished. However the final cut took 4 more disappointing albums to come. Due to this, "Eye In The Sky" is the last really recommendable Parsons album. Commercially it turned out to be the most successful one - despite the weaknesses described above - and it was indeed the most commercial work released by them: no surprises like disharmonies or changing paces of tracks, but nice mainstream sound with steady beats and predictable composition. It may not sound too exciting, but Parsons - as always - took a lot of effort in thorough composition... Read review

...Alan Parsons holding faith to its passion for the rock operas wrote in 1980 " Turn of to friendly card " entirely dedicated to the gambling the cards and the dices. Beautiful is the cover in which one gothic window where it's reproduced a king of diamonds trying to light the black background, with a possible meaning: the gambling can enrich (the window that illuminates) but most of the times send the gambler to the deepest desperation (the black background). The best "songs": "Time" where the time it's compared to a flowing river. Eric Woolfson (cofounder of the Project) is supported only be a light musical background. "The Gold Bug" wonderful instrumental used as soundtrack of several spots. The long suite of 16 minutes and 5 movements that is opened and closed with title track "the Turn of friendly card... Advantages: Good Collection of dance tracks
Disadvantages: Too many Overlaps from the Hed Kandi label

...Tokyo Project presents The Collection CD comes from the new venture by Mark Doyle, who was previously boss at Hed Kandi before starting up his own label. This is their first release. Disc One It opens promisingly with a track called The Weekend by Michael Gray which is quite a famous club classic; I was disappointed to know I already had it on Hed Kandi: Disco Heaven from last spring. It mixes well with Jamiroquai's Seven Days in Sunny June, which is the next track, and a commercial hit, which most tracks used on such compilations aren't. This was followed by Sean from Aya, a track that was on Hed Kandi's Spring Sampler 2005 and their Winter Mix 2004. Martin Solveg's Everybody was one of the better tracks by him and I also enjoyed the Mylo Vs Miami Sound Machine's Doctor Pressure, a combo of Dr Beat from MSM and Mylo's Drop... Read review
