A review of Precious Time a novel by Erica James
Precious Time is a modern novel with a romantic, gentle feel to it. My last book review was a gritty, dramatic piece of writing, 'Precious Time' is a complete contrast. You would feel comfortable allowing your 14 year old to read it or even your 90 year old grandmother. I bought the book as the synopsis read well, describing a young woman who gives up her job and buys a camper van in order travel to spend more time with her son. It sounded a little like my current lifestyle so appealed to me.
**The storyline**
Clara Costello has a well paid job, a desirable home, friends and family around her. She is also a single mother to a little boy named Ned. As Clara is faced with Ned due to start school later in the year she decides to rent out her home, leave her job and take Ned ...
Advantages: Entertaining the whole way through Disadvantages: Slightly on the budget side
in the action scenes give out a sense reality which makes the film rather hardcore with relation to how much hate is involved in war.
I often find that action films can sometimes concentrate too much on getting the action element correct and the acting sometimes can fault because of this, however in Behind Enemy Lines I thought that the acting was pretty believable and all of the actors made a great team and worked together nicely. Some of the cast members are listed below ?
Owen Wilson ? Lt. Chris Burnett
Gene Hackman ? Admiral Leslie McMahon Reigart
Gabriel Macht ? Stackhouse
Charles Malik Whitfield ? Captain Rodway
David Keith ? Master Chief Tom O?Malley
Olek Krupa ? Miroslay Lokar
Joaquim De Almeida ? Admiral Piquet
I was particularly impressed with the acting of Gene Hackman, he was believable as a hardened Admiral, but he ...
Advantages: I couldn't put it down. Disadvantages: I couldn't put it down!
I love it when I find a book that demands that I finish it, even when it is 1am in the morning and I have a sneaking suspicion that I will be woken by six, this is definately a book like that.
"No time for goodbye" is the story of Cynthia Bigge who, aged 15 in 1983 wakes up in the morning to find her whole family gone without a trace and for seemingly no good reason. Twenty five years later and with a family of her own she is still haunted by what happened and the pieces of the puzzle are about to be revealed.
I won't ruin the book for anyone by revealing the twists that the plot take, as following them and wondering what is going on is part of the pleasure of reading this book. Cleverly, however, the narrator is Terry, Cynthia's husband rather than Cynthia who is the main character of the book. This allows Cynthia to be viewed ...
