Advantages: Fantastic DVD Disadvantages: There ARE no disadvantages!
...California Dreamin' by the Mammas and the Papas. This is … what? Exactly? Just a music DVD from the 1960s? A seminal masterwork by some of the world's best ever musical geniuses?
Having listened to this DVD and viewed it, all I can say is yes, I think it is probably a seminal masterwork by some of the world's best ever musicial geniuses..
I am in my late 40s, so I can remember the 1960s and I can remember the fantastic influence that the Mamas and the Papas had on music and on society in general. There songs are a combination of pathos, of love, of joy, are happiness of melancholy of… of life itself, I suppose.
All the hits of the Mamas and the Papas are on this DVD.

Advantages: Sunny, catchy pop songs Disadvantages: Mama Cass and John Phillips are no longer with us
...No home should be without a Mamas & Papas compilation album, and this is one of the most readily available. You should even be able to pick it up for around £5.00 or £6.00 at Sale time, which is, as they say, a snip.
It not the most comprehensive collection (you'd need to get "Creeque Alley" for that), and it's a shame that "It's getting better" and "Make your own kind of music" are not on here. But then these songs were released as solo Mama Cass recordings, so there were possibly licensing difficulties?

Advantages: A couple of hits Disadvantages: Lots of skits, poor rhymes, very commercial
..."VYP (Voice Of The Young People)" is the debut album by the pop rapper Lil' Mama, to be honest I didn't really like much of what I heard from her prior to buying this, but I still ended up getting it regardless.
1. "Intro"
2. "Lip Gloss"
This was the debut single from the artist, so I expected it to be placed this early on to excite listeners, but I really do not like this pop rap song as it is far too commercial to be taken seriously.
Initially when it gained radio play over in the UK, everyone began comparing her to other female rappers such as Lil' Kim and Foxy Brown, but she has nothing on them, maily because she couldn't take all the credit to writing the rhymes and she is just for the urban pre-teen pop audienece whereas the other two simply aren't.
**One Star**
3. "One Hit Wonder"
It's good to hear...
