...Guns 'n Roses have always been top of my play list and lies is no exception. Lies is simply all you need for almost any occasion. Track list- Reckless life, Nice boys, Move to the city, Mama kin, Patience, Used to love her, You're crazy, One in a million. All of which are fantastic and will get your blood pumping while jumping up and down playing air guitar in the mirror (everyone does it). Reckless life has a great beat and rhythm and is easy to sing along to if you like that sort of thing (personally i think its impossible not to Nice boys has a very fast beat which from what i can tell is constantly to time. The lyrics are some times less coherent than over tracks but it sounds fantastic. Move to the city in my opinion is the the worst track on the album. However is still one that I would not skip and Slash as always sounds amazing... Read review

Advantages: A good, solid album from the masters of 80's Rock
Disadvantages: Some may dislike the acoustic songs

...After making such an impact on the music world with the brilliant Appetite For Destruction, many wondered how Guns N Roses would follow it up. GNR Lies is the answer. This album is essentially a great exaple of how Guns 'N' Roses used to be, before certain members left and Axl took over. The first 4 tracks on this album are all live tracks from the "Live *#?!! like a suicide" LP which was Guns N Roses first record, even before Appetite. All of these tracks are live so the sound quality is slightly poorer than the others. All of them however, are great examples of proper Rock n Roll, the way it should be. Particular favoourites of mine are Nice boys, and the very cool Mama kin. Also Reckless life and the jazzy Move To the City are quite good too. This point is where opinions are split into Hard rock fans who like GNR and simply GNR fans... Read review

Advantages: Original, "real" Guns N' Roses

...Frankly, a great album. This album consists only of 8 tracks, 4 live recordings from 1986 (before debut album "Appetite for Destruction") and 4 studio recordings from 1988. This album gives us a slight insight into early Guns N' Roses with the four live tracks: Reckless Life, Nice Boys (Don't Play Rock N' Roll), Move to the City and Mama Kin. Reckless Life on my first listen sounded, and I'll be truthful, terrible. However, when I was in a GN'R mood one day, I put three of their CDs into my Stereo, with the intention of only listening to Patience, which I had heard before, however, when this disc came on, and I listened to this again, I was amazed at how wrong my initial reaction was. This is a pure masterpiece, it's catchy tune, accompanied by Axl's unique vocal talents and the superb lyrics form a great opening track that leads... Read review
