Advantages: Great for smaller hands. Lightweight. Easy to play. Disadvantages: Floyd Rose Trem. Hard to get parts
I won't bother boring you with the specs of this guitar, if you are looking to buy it you will probably already know them already! Just for reference, the model I have is the orange quilt top with maple fingerboard.
The Axis has a Floyd Rose, as opposed to the Super Sport which I believe is more akin to a fixed bridge. I am not keen on Floyd Rose trems due to the extra hassle with tuning and changing strings, but that is pretty much all I can fault with this guitar.
The neck is absolutely incredible, especially for someone with smaller hands. It is my favourite guitar to play, as it suits my hands so well with its narrow neck and short scale, it's much easier than guitars such as PRS and Jacksons of similar price, which have wider necks.
I find the MusicMan does not produce particularly clean sounds when amplified; that is to say ...
Advantages: So many fantastic songs Disadvantages: Could use more liner notes.
Whenever I am in a really lousy mood or have just suffered a bad day I put Sam Cooke: The Man and His Music into my CD player and let this gifted and truly remarkable singer/songwriter have his melodic way with me.
Sam Cooke was trully one of the leading and groundbreaking artists in the music industry. It is his music that leaves the most impression, however, truly proving that music, its construction from being written to being sung, is one of the most divine artforms on this sad little planet. Sam Cooke was nothing less than a genius. Not only did he create the difinitive versions of any song he wrote but also turned his gift to the works of others, making them his own.
On this wonderful CD we are given some of Cooke's finest moments. There is not one bad song on the album and I can hum every single tune. I am sad when each ...
Advantages: Very in-depth, interesting and rewarding course. Disadvantages: Home project kit a bit of a disappointment

Passing this course is counted as 60 Points at Level 2 towards either a BA or BSc Open University degree. Please note this a review of the TA212 course in 2008 so there may be some slight differences. In 2008 (and hence also in my review) there were 7 TMAs but the 2009 course only has 6 for example, other than that I should the subject matter is very similar if not exactly the same. A full description, as well as the cost and study dates, of the current course can be found here:
