Advantages: Refreshingly Different Disadvantages: None
Don't be put off by the title Missa Luba 'An African Mass' or think that it's 'too high-brow'!
Missa Luba is a wonderful example of African rhythms and percussive instrumentation - drums and shaken gourds - with traditional African 'call and response' melodies together with additional harmonies. Based on the traditional Mass the work consists of just five tracks - Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Agnus Dei - and is just over fifteen minutes long.
The remainder of the recording consists of 10 Kenyan Folk Melodies. These too are as wonderful and refreshing as the Missa Luba .
Ideal for the 'serious' listener, as background music or for those who wish to listen to something a little different.
Go on. Give it a try; you will be glad you did. After all you have nothing to loose but much enjoyment to be gained.

Advantages: So many all time great film and television themes. Disadvantages: Just one, very poor two page album sleeve.
Henry Mancini (1924-1994) was a multi Grammy Award winning Composer, Conductor and arranger best known for his superb Film and Television scores and themes.
This is mainly an instrumental album of 24 tracks on 1 CD but there are some occasional vocals here and there on certain tracks.
It is a shame that he is not universally better known by the public because he was a musical genius in my opinion.
On this album you get a very good selection of some of the best of these. A lot of the tunes like "The Pink Panther Theme" and "Moon River" you will immediately recognise and be able to put a name to and many others you will instantaneously recognise but not be able to put a name to.
His composing encompassed the use of all kinds of instruments and arrangements. Some compositions are set to string arrangements, some to big band sounds ...
Advantages: Keeps you glued to the book Disadvantages: A little too descriptive in certain parts of the story
It's the 4th book of the series and is a great book. Readers of da prequels will definitely enjoy this one. These books have a very different story line and keeps the reader glued to the book until the end. A very interesting read for those who like books like series like Pendragon and Septimus Heap. The book focues on the pixie, Opal Koboi and her plan to send a probe downwards so that the humans discover the fairies, leading to a great war between them. Opal also tries to kill Artemis and his trusted body guard but fails, fortunately. She kills Julius Root and dumps the blame on Captain Holly Short. The book has been wonderfully written. Hats off to Eoin Colfer for doing a wonderful job! ...
