Advantages: Easy drinking. Disadvantages: Not for everyone.
Believe it or not I'm actually drinking a glass of Ernest & Julio Gallo Colombard as I'm typing so this review will go one of two ways. Unfinished if the drinking is quicker than the typing, or finished with some potentially dodgy keyboardmanship. My apologies if it's the latter.
Call me picky or pedantic if you want but Ciao have got the spelling of this wine wrong, it's not a Columbard, but a Colombard. I know it's only the difference between a U and an O but these things are important. Right that's my mini rant over with, now on with the review.

Wine making is almost as old as man himself. Some of the earliest references to wine are actually made in the bible, so we're talking of an industry many thousands of years old.

The bottle I have is year 2000. The label is plain cream and gold with the words "Ernest and Julio Gallo, Turning leaf, Zinfandel" on the front. Below which is a picture of an autumn leaf.
Its a 750ml ...
Advantages: Good price and a smooth crisp drink Disadvantages: bottles too small !!!
of vanilla - The Chenin Blanc contains hints of apple and pineapple. So blending these two together was a genius idea of the Gallo family. The flavours in this wine compliment each other brilliantly well. The crisp, delicate blend is great to drink on its own, with light party snacks (as I did Saturday) or with a white meat roast (as I did Sunday)
~~~~ The Producers~~~~
The Gallo family have been producing wines for over 75 years in the California region. They are major producers using many varieties of grapes to suit all palates and occasions.
~~~ Packaging~~~
Garnet Point Chardonnay-Chenin Blanc is a crisp, California wine that is presented in a stanard 75cl pale green bottle at 13% vol. Thus allowing the drinker to see the clear, pale colour that reassured me it would be a rather dry, white wine. The bottle displays a bold front ...
