This is my first review on music, so if anyone has any comments on how I might improve the review they would be more than welcome.
Manumission The Ibiza Classics Collection.
Presentation:
It's a collection of 3 CD's (48 Tracks) that come in individual jewel cases within a cardboard sleeve. Personally I always end up throwing the sleeve away and the jewel cases are particularly thin and don't fit too well in stands etc. The artwork is pretty basic just a large M with what appears to be a collage of Manumission posters within it, on a white background. Each CD and the sleeve has the same artwork. The individual cases only list the songs there is a separate sleeve that lists the date of release, producers etc.. This is slightly annoying if you do not wish to keep the cardboard sleeve as it will not fit into the CD cases.

I was going to individually review each CD, but I realised my comments on each would have been about the same.
There is quite a few songs I really like on here, I was quite surprised to see some of them on here, for example Blue Monday - New Order. I am very glad they were included but they were a surprise as they are not exactly what I would have thought were the kind of songs that would be included in this collection.
It is rather an eclectic mix and doesn't seem to have any reason behind the order, some of the songs don't flow into each other at all smoothly. But I generally play music on random so that doesn't particularly bother me. The songs seem to cover a period of about 20 years, from '83 to the mid '00's. Most seem to be from the mid to late 90's, in my view the golden era of dance music.
There are some of what I would call "club classics" for example, café del mar, Adagio for strings, etc.. Although I like 90% of the songs in the collection it is a collection of songs that charted in or around the top 10 and it's a bit mainstream for my liking. It is great for playing in the background, or when you have a few friends round, or in the car etc., I think most of the songs would be played in an average town centre night-club now and in the 90's, only a few are as I mentioned before, "club classics".
I think if you are a closet dance fan or a mainstream dance enthusiast, this would be a good collection of CD's, however if you are looking for the latest tunes, or some of the biggest dance anthems of the 90's you may well be disappointed.
I personally enjoyed it and would recommend it, but only at the price I paid, I wouldn't spend much more on this CD, as with most dance compilations, they seem to have a lot of the same songs, this does have a more varied mix but covers the same "Club Classics", if you are looking for some good energetic songs covering a broad period then this will be a great CD for you, however if you are looking for more "hardcore" dance tunes then there are only one or two on here, which can be found on most other dance compilations.
Having said all that, all 48 songs are good, there are none I would take off, but plenty I would add.
Price & Availability.
You can no doubt find this on ebay for a few pounds, it is currently in the 2 for £10 selection in HMV. I'm sure it is easily available in most on-line stores.
Overall
I would recommend this compilation, however I would not pay more than £10 for it.
