Disadvantages: They changed the nougat filling

This is perhaps the most classic chocolate bar from my childhood. It has long been my favourite as a kid and I sort of have to say it still is so as not to feel as if I have disowned it (sorry Mars Bar but I have found other favourites - I still love you though!). 'A Mars a day helps you work rest and play' - this was the little catchphrase that was associated with Mars Bar. Funny really; it's like saying a chocolate bar a day is good for you. The slogan has now changed to 'Pleasure you can't measure' which definitely seems more appropriate. A standard Mars bar comes at 58g, about 11cm long and 1.8cm high. You'll pay about 32p for this bar in supermarkets which is well below the norm of 50p. Review of Mars Bar

Ritual by Mo Hayder. Excellent crime fiction.

Advantages: Great story and characters
Disadvantages: May seem a bit missing if read previous Jack Caffery books

I was lucky enough to win a competition to receive all of Mo Hayder's books a couple of years ago and had really enjoyed them, so when I saw this new book in paperback in Smiths I had to buy it. The Blurb Nine Feet under water in Bristol harbour, a police diver finds a human hand. The fact that there's no body attached is disturbing, but even more disturbing is the discovery a day later of the matching hand and the shocking evidence that the victim was still alive when they were removed. Recently arrived from London, DI Jack Caffery is now part of Bristol's Major Crime Investigation Unit. His search for the victim leads him to a dark and sinister underworld; a place more terrifying than anything he has known before. Review of Ritual - Mo Hayder

Mo's the Better

Advantages: Some great rock tinged soul and funk songs
Disadvantages: Not enough original material

and might not have been a direction either the band or the fans particularly wanted Thunder to go in. Whilst I can't say for sure that this latter option is the truth, I can certainly see how it may work. Some Thunder fans were upset by how unlike the untraditional Thunder sound "Moving Swiftly Along" sounded, which was to miss the point - it wasn't a Thunder album! But if those fans didn't like that album much, they're really going to hate "Mo's Barbeque" They're going to hate it from the opening bars of "Desire", where the horn intro sounds like it would have been right at home on the soundtrack to "The Commitments". It's got a sound very much like some of the old soul classics with the horns and piano and you'd be pretty hard pressed to tell that this band are more used to playing pop-rock music until a couple of minutes in, where ...
