Advantages: learning about an amazing culture/stunning scenery/up close with the animals Disadvantages: food and drink where we were staying was not inclusive so rather expensive
I travelled to the Mara as a part of a seven day safari. I stayed at the Serena lodge for one night and spent two fantastic days here.
The beauty of the Maasai Mara is the abundance of wildlife, we went on four game drives and were not disappointed once. Here in the space of two days we marvelled at lions, lion cubs and lionesses (one would have been enough for me - I was thrilled!) we watched them view "their" territory early in the morning and sleep side by side at night.
We also saw many other wonderful animals such as a cheetah and her cubs,a leopard, meercats, hyenas, zebras, wilderbeast and many many more.
The photographic opportunities were surreal, really stunning shots!
We saw the sun set over the Acacia trees as we finished our game drives - a truly african experience.
We were taken to the mara river where we saw ...
Advantages: Recorded With A Mainstream Record Company Called Chrysalis Disadvantages: Out Of Whole Album, One Weak Song
As a Runrig fan, I try my best to get to all the gigs that I can, buy all the albums and cd single that I can and I can truely say there hasn't been one Runrig album that I have been dissapointed with. Everytime a new album comes out, they have something new to offer but still keep their feet firmly on the ground of what they are about.... Skye! They truely are a band who deserve more credit than they get.
Calum and Rory Mc Donald are bound to be in amongst the best songwriters of the 20th, 21st century. Their lyrics never fail to impress their loyal fan base as well as their brilliant live performances. Perhaps the best example of this is contained within one of their best recordings of all time, Searchlight. Not only was it on a mainstream record label (Chrysalis), this record was a hit and is full of a roller coaster ride ...
Advantages: All of the songs are wriiten by the band, except 7 and 17 Disadvantages: None
I first got this when I was 17, and I wasn't to sure about it. But having decided to listen to the album, I was amazed! Runrig are a scottish folk/rock band who puts celtic, folk and rock together to create a unique sound. As the other reviewers, said about lyrics, it all depends how you look at it. I wasn't to sure on Rocket To The Moon, but listening to the whole album, it kinda makes you feel there's a spiritual presence from deep within your soul. I love the lead singer who left in 97 but I do love them still even if it's not the original lead singer. The singing stands out from Donnie Munro but also from Rory Macdonald who has brilliant harmonies
Pros : All of the songs except 7 and 17 are written by the band. How can people say it's not originality is beyond me as 99% of Runrig songs are wriiten by Calum/Rory Macdonald ...
