...*Please note ? this is a review of the restaurant part of the hotel* A few weeks ago Mr Tart and myself headed to his parents? for a family gathering. We were all going out for a posh meal on the Sunday and the French Horn was chosen as the location for the event. LOCATION: The French Horn is in Sonning-on-Thames. Sonning is not a big place and the restaurant is on the main road so you can?t miss it (sorry I can?t be more specific ? it doesn?t even give a road name on the website!). It?s not the easiest place to get to as the approaches are all through small, busy roads. There is plenty of parking in the French Horn?s car park opposite the restaurant. The restaurant?s location is what really makes it. It is right on the Thames with the gardens leading down to the river. We went on a beautiful sunny day and the setting... Read review

A BIRTHDAY GREETING TO CIAO FROM RICHADA

Advantages: An unusually retrospective birthday greeting.
Disadvantages: Hardly a conventional birthday party.

...meet ?Ada? (Adrianna), a year later that meeting bought about the marriage which created ?RICHADA?. When written, the following piece was written by someone as single as it is possible to be. Whilst reflective in tone, in some respects it has proven to be remarkably prophetic, rueing the pace of change in 1999 seems positively ironic to me now ten years later ? thanks to modern technology, particularly information technology, it simply defies belief just how much more productive we have all had to become. ...Mr Birthday is another character who starts in the new collection of Mr Men books with added sparkle. He is a square shape and blue in colour. He wears red shoes and a red and yellow stripy party hat. The front cover of the book has a picture of Mr Birthday with balloons around him and the title in shiny blue letters above. The back cover of the book has smaller pictures showing a few of the other books available in the new 'added sparkle' collection. THE STORY The story begins by telling us that the best thing Mr Birthday enjoys about birthdays is the parties that is why he always wears his party hat. It tells us that he likes to organise parties for everyone that he knows. The story goes on to tell us about some of the parties he has organised and who they were for.
