LAND OF THE FREE AND HOME OF THE-DREAM

Advantages: Easy listening and unique
Disadvantages: Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave

PROMOTION I'm sorry I got it in for your girlfriend America has always been about living the dream, apparently. One artist who certainly is living that American dream right now is, The-Dream, who you have probably heard me mentioning a lot lately. That's because this guy, born Terius Nash, has been garnering the reputation of Timbaland for his production and praise for writing like Ne-Yo. Whilst he has been around for a while, writing the Britney Spears and Madonna collaboration, 'Me Against The Music' -- The-Dream has worked with artists on more recent projects including; Mariah Carey's request to 'Touch My Body' and Usher 'Moving Mountains'. When recently promoting his aspirations to be a recognised solo artist on the BET channel, The-Dream also advised we watch out for Ciara's upcoming project where he has worked ...

MAROONED!

Advantages: Always nice to hear a band play live
Disadvantages: some songs just don't work acoustically

MAROON 5 are: ADAM LEVINE - VOCALS, GUITAR JAMES VALENTINE - GUITAR JESSE CARMICHAEL - KEYBOARDS MICKEY MADDEN - BASS RYAN DUSICK - DRUMS Maroon 5 were formed when the then 17 year olds, Levine, Carmichael and Madden attended high school together. At this stage they called themselves Kara's Flowers and they were fortunate enough to work with top producer Rob Cavello (Goo Goo Dolls,Michelle Branch and Green Day). Fame and fortune looked set for them until they released their debut "The Fourth World". It bombed and their record label dropped them. They didn't have a plan B, so deciding to go on to college, Levine and Carmichael left for New York, while Madden and Dusick studied at UCLA. It was whilst in New York that Levine noticed a style of music he hadn't really paid attention to before - Gospel. Everyone ...

Review of 1.22.03 Acoustic (Live) - Maroon 5

A Land Rover with the manners of an executive car.

Advantages: Exceptional towing vehicle, comfortable & reliable
Disadvantages: Quite sluggish

I have owned many large, spacious and comfortable vehicles; both 4x4s and cars (Mitsibishi Shoguns, Mercedes...). However, now on my second Discovery (a '52 Reg' TD5 GS) I can safely say that the Land Rover has blitzed the others. It offers a unique blend of ruggedness and comfort without sacrificing luxury. When I bought my first Discovery, again a TD5 back in 2000, friends of mine were sceptical of my choice of Diesel over the V8 petrol. However, when they experienced the smoothness and adequacy of the Turbocharged 5-cylinder unit they quickly congratulated me on my choice. Also in terms of MPG the TD5 offers around 25-30 compared to the horrific consumption of the V8. Indeed it is the coupling of the engine and drivetrain which ultimately makes the Disco TD5, the abundance of torque is after all fundamental to any 4x4 especially ...
