The Simpsons - Classics - Heaven and Hell is yet another of the 'classics' series of Simpsons DVD's. There are four episodes included here, each having something to do with heaven and the other place. They are "Bart Sells His Soul", "In Marge We Trust", "Treehouse Of Horror IV" and "Homer The Heretic".
In "Bart Sells His Soul", Bart sells his soul to Milhouse for 5 dollars after proclaiming they don't exist. He soon regrets the sale though, as his dog is very edgy towards him, automatic doors don't open for him anymore and Marge feel like he is missing something. In the end he gets it back from an unlikely source. A Bart-centric episode, it touches on what a soul is and how someone can possess such a thing. The Simpsons writers are excellent at trying to explain these things in a brilliantly comic way.
"In Marge We Trust" has Marge ...
Advantages: Classic Clarkson Humor, Can be picked up cheap Disadvantages: Gets Repetitive, Same as previous Clarkson DVDs
Being a big fan of Top Gear, and in particular Jeremy Clarkson, I could not resist buying this DVD when I saw it cheap. Although Clarksons typical humour is definately present, which is good, I was quite disappointed with this DVD, which seems a bit rushed.
OVERVIEW
The main idea behind this DVD is that the so called cars of 'heaven' are driven round the track by Clarkson, as he talks breifly about their speed, handling etc, whilst the cars of 'hell' are demolished, using various methods of destruction. The main trouble is that the DVD contains 20 features, and is only 70 minutes long. This means that the mini 'reviews' of the good cars do not last long at all, and so they are not very interesting, as there is only so much you can do with a car in 3 minutes. As for the cars of hell, once you have seen one or two cars be blown ...
Advantages: Nice Animation, Great Storyline and Excellent Music. Disadvantages: None.
the title might suggest , this anime series isn't full of horror and frightening scenes all of the time. Although this definitely isn't a bad thing. Especially during the scenes which lead up to a "bad" person being sent to Hell, it can get very creepy.
From episode to episode, almost the whole cast of characters change. Apart from a small handful of returning characters, the Hell Girl herself and her four "helpers". Although most of the characters you only see for one episode, the character development is so good and fast that you feel you know these characters really well, even in just that short space of time. This allows you to really feel bad for the victims, when they go through their awful events. It also makes you look forward to and enjoy seeing the "bad" people get their comeuppance.
Episodes 1 through to 4 pretty much follow the same ...
