...I didn't know anything about the "Love" Album before I got it, so here is a little back ground. George Martin, the original Beatles producer, and his son Giles where asked by Ringo, Paul, Yoko and Olivia Harrison to re-mix some original master tapes of Beatles work for a collaboration production with Cirque du Soleil. I think the result is 78 minutes of the best Beatles material. If you are not a big Beatles fan, you will know all the songs and enjoy the album, which I think is designed to be played in 1 session, as many of the track's merge together. If you are a bog Beatles fan you will enjoy it on a different level. It is very respectful of the original work, as well as including new and un-heard segments of work. On the whole I would defiantly recommend the "Love" album as an essential for any collection.... Read review

.... Why was this re-made? -------------------------------- Paul McCartney wanted this album to be heard as it was intended and was never happy with the edited version. Phil Spectror is an American record producer who was famous for his wall of sound and was unique in the 60s. (who is currently in jail for murder) George Martin was the Beatles producer and thought that Phil Spector messed around with the original tapes so much that it had an adverse effect on the Beatles sound. Phil Spector re arranged all the tracks and added orchestras where he thought it was necessary. In the process of doing this some of the rawness of some of the tracks which were supposed to be represented were lost forever. However years later Paul McCartney decided it was time that the world should be able to listen to what the whole album should have sounded like... Read review

...I Needed Someone' he was becoming increasingly annoyed that Lennon/McCartney would only allow him one or two cuts per record. By the early days Lennon/McCartney and George Martin didn't value him as an accomplished songwriter, and allowed him one or two songs per album to appease him. Yesterday: The public was astounded when one Beatle decided to break away from the number one pop formula they had always adopted. That said Beatle was Paul McCartney, and with the classical orientated song 'Yesterday' changed the course of material the Beatles were able to achieve. George Martin, an accomplished classical musician employed the help of an orchestra in order to record the song. 'Yesterday' has been heralded as one of the greatest songs of the 20th century, and the ongoing song writing battle between Paul and John would soon begin... Read review
